I lived there for 24 years. I raised two daughters there. I loved the summers but the short daylight hours caused severe depression. I miss the fishing and the wildlife.

One day I would love to take an alaskan cruise, my sister lives in Oregon so sometime for an extended vacation might fly from east coast where I live to visit her and find a cruise line that leaves from that area to alaskan cruise.

I have lived in Moose Pass, Alaska for 6 years. It is the most beautiful place in the world. If you get a chance to visit there is an awesome lodge to stay in here. The fishing is incredible and the hiking is out of this world. Hope to see you.

Alaska has always been on my list of places I'd love to see. Whenever a movie is shot there the scenery takes my breath away. I don't mind the cold so it wouldn't matter to me what time of year I went. I only have one question - Are the mosquitos as bad as they say in books?

I lived in Anchorage for 17 years. Was up to be drafted in 1968 from Joliet,Il so I enlisted in the Air Force. After basic in Texas and tech school in Biloxi, Ms, just after hurricane Camille. The USAF sent me to Elmendorf, AFB. Spouses were allowed accompany so my wife came up. After the service I worked for Burroughs Corp. as a field engineer. This allowed me to travel around the state. Both our daughters were born in Anchorage. We loved Alaska, Anchorage grew tremendously while we were there.

I spent most of my childhood growing up in Anchorage,Alaska. I graduated from high school there. Of any other places that I lived in as an adult, nothing comes close to my fond memories of living in Alaska. They were the best times of my life! It is such a beautiful state ! At times, I wish I had never moved from there. If I hadn't though, I never would have met my late husband and had two children with him. I would love to be able to take a trip back to Alaska one day to show my children what a wonderful place Alaska is to experience!

Wishing you could do something is never as good as PLANNING TO DO SOMETHING. Plan it and then do it. I lived there for one year. It was in a small town named Willow. Anyone that wants to go should do so, at least once.

I was born and raised in Anchorage. I left there about 20+ years ago though and headed south. I really miss it. I have a topic posted like this one too, if you want to check it out. I really miss all the natural beauty, the glaciers, Homer, oh and who can forget Fur Rondy...which is fast approaching. I bet the city has changed a bunch since I was there. What can you tell me about it now?

I lived in Juneau till 2001 when I moved to Scotland. The only reason I would leave there was to be with my hubby, he's from Scotland. I really miss Alaska, the fresh air, the shear beauty of the mountains, the woods. I miss seeing black bears every morning before leaving for work. I miss the numerous trails. Not being on top of the food chain. I liked watching black bears sitting in the blueberry bushes just munching away. My brother still lives there. But, I will always be connected to Alaska as it is in my blood. I can still see myself walking the trails near my old apartment, smelling the stinkweed, looking for scat................

I would love to visit Alaska. I have read all kinds of stuff about Alaska. I want to see the iceburges. I would love to see the whales and the walrus. I like to see nature in it finest. I would like to meet actual Escamos. I have done some research and the price of this kind of trip is way out of my price range. I would love to see the arroraborialis. I have seen these lights in movies and they are lovely. I would love to see them once in person.
