"The Most Wonderful Time of the Year": Adult Advent Calendar

Here's an idea - maybe it's already been marketed but -- what an idea if it hasn't! As a kid I loved the Advent Calendar. For those who are unfamiliar with it - there are several styles. It is either a board shaped thing, a wall hanging or a paper good. It looks like a calendar page for the month of December. For each of the days there is either a flap (if it's paper) or a little door. The idea - you open the flap or door on the eve of the corresponding day -- If it's the paper style one you are treated to a new illustration for each day. If it's the board style you may be treated to a small goodie - a piece of candy, a tiny toy... My idea -- what about one for adults? (And no, mind out of gutters - not *that* kind of adult.) One exclusively for adults only -- could have an inspirational statement under the doors (paper variety) - what a great way to gear up for New Year's resolutions. The issue seems to come in for what little goodie or treat could the board style hold that would be entertaining for an adult? Little bottles of alcohol or the chocolates that are filled with liquor would add a grown up's touch. Perhaps a single serving of specialty coffee grounds, or teas... I can't think of many adults who would be over joyed with little trinkets... What do you think Mylot? Cool idea? Or hopelessly dorky? Photo:Mine

I like the idea. You could make for each adult and give each their favorite kind of things. Chocolate would do for me.

That's a cool idea, different themes would work for different adults -- sports buffs, tv buffs etc... I love chocolate too

Like the one in the photo? I buy one every year, they make those chocolate advent calendars from decades here in Switzerland.

Sorry, my mind was in the gutter and I was hoping to catch me a belated Christmas present. Like Sia, I love cheap thrills.

We have plenty of advent calendars for adults here. Some have a small bottle of whisky behind the little door of each day of the advent, others chocolates, others perfumes. You can find many for sale on Amazon.

Oh nice! I'll have to look for that on Amazon. I love scents - so maybe the perfume one would be a good match if I can find it. Come to think on it, it would be cool the have one for couples -- where you fill it for your partner/spouse

I don't think you have to be a kid to enjoy that sort of thing. Good idea.

That's a cool idea. Each day is a fresh day . Whether it is fast or slow Mylotting is cool. Somebody enjoys chocolate fast and somebody very slowly.

I think it is a good idea. Chocolates, teas, coffee grounds sound good - trinkets not so much.
