So have you taken down your Christmas decorations yet?

My decorations are still up. I leave everything up until January 6th, Little Christmas. On the 7th I will start to put everything away. All the lights of the holiday season look so pretty. I hate to see them go.

I just took down our tree and everything this morning. Our home is small and crowded so it had to go. =(

Our place is small too and I'd like the space in front of the window back again! We have to walk around the tree and the clothes rack to get down the hallway.

Filipinos do not take down their decorations till after new year and majority not until the feast of the three kings or the epiphany on January the 6th

I hate seeing them go as well but at the same time I like to pack it all away and see my house all nice and tidy again. I took ours all down yesterday and packed them away.

12th night and all that jazz. It's such a chore putting them up, so might as well appreciate them as long as possible.

@Happy2BeMe Ideally, if my house was big enough, I would have a Christmas room, or rooms, and open them up from Dec 1st until 5th Jan and then close them for the rest of the year.

Only a few of my decorations have been up since Thanksgiving. Many of them were put up only a week or two ago. I am contemplating undressing our tree. There are many needles on the tree skirt and I worry about the tree drying out. Hubby said there is plenty of water in the stand so it should be okay for another week. I usually leave my tree up until after New Year's day. We shall see.

@Happy2BeMe the needles are still holding tight to the branches. There are a few on the skirt, but that is to be expected.

I hope it will be okay until then. If you have a real tree it is different.

Ours are still up as well. We'll probably keep them up until next week. We like to keep them up until the first week of the new year. But after that they come down until next Christmas.

Ideally I would have left the christmas decorations for the new year as you. The decorative items are any way going to be sleeping for almost until the next christmas arrives!

Ours have always stayed up until at least the 1st of January. My neighbors have them up also. One of our newer neighbors keeps the lights on all night and its nice to sit outside watching the decorations. I live where its warm enough to walk up and down the streets with a light jacket or none at all, if its not raining. Its raining now.

I put everything away inside of the house yesterday, except for our Nativity Scene, that will stay up until after Little Christmas. My husband hasn't taken down the outside lights and decorations, that won't happen until the new year.
