Just a few days left of the year now and death claims another much loved movie and music icon, Debbie Reynolds, mother of Carrie Fisher who died only yesterday. So sad. For me, it has been a very quiet day in, proof reading stories sent by friends for consideration in our next local writing group anthology. I was happy to do it. They have checked some of my writings too. I got a belated Christmas card from a family friend, which had some money in with the card. It had been sent to my Mum’s who forwarded it on to me. Isn't Carrie Fisher the woman that played in Star Wars? I liked to watch Star Wars but I stopped watching it faithfully after a short time. I may decide to buy some of the seasons of Star Wars one day in the near future.

It is always nice to get those late cards and things. Especially the ones with some $ in it. Yes, so sad about Debbie.

Good to see that money sent in the mail can still reach its destination. I read years ago that senders were advised to wrap banknotes in carbon paper as it makes them harder to detect. I found what you wrote in another posts about the checks on those working at the Royal Mail very reassuring.

I had no idea Debbie Reynolds was the mother of Carrie Fisher. Now I recall, Eddie Fisher, a famous singer before my time - was married to Debbie and he later married Elizabeth Taylor.
