Newcomers

This has been bothering me for long so today I decided to share it with you all. I don't blame anyone in person but what I feel is that many newcomers are simply down rating the level of mylot my simple one liner discussions. I simply get pissed off on seeing this. I mean please at least make some effort to explain your one liner which is actually going over everyone's head. We are hear to express and read and not just loitering over futile things.. Please please don't post discussions only for the sake of posting and trying to earn money. Please help to maintain the standards of mylot. I m sport if i have hurt anyone but today I simply could not keep quiet... Please feel free to tell me if I'm wrong.

I've noticed that things like this tend to go in cycles. If you find that a one-line post truly goes against the guidelines, please feel free to hit the report button to bring it to admin's attention. They'll review it and delete it if they agree that it's not suitable for myLot. There's also nothing wrong with gently guiding newcomers toward the Help page where they can find the Community Guidelines and Earnings Program FAQ. Most users don't intend to post low quality things. They simply don't know what's expected here, or that their earnings will depend on the quality of the things they post. With a little nudge in the right direction, you'll see many of them become great members of the community.

@The_CQ Sure, but it will probably be at least 12 hours before I can do so. I've stayed up way too late tonight!

Intend to avoid the new users for just that reason. I have also moved away from long time users who submit one discussion after the other that are pointless one liners. I enjoy the interaction you get from a active discussion.

I agree with you completely. I have mentioned to some that they should try to give us a bit more information. Some forget and think we are all from their country so sometimes their discussion doesn't make a lot of sense. I hope many newcomers read this.

@amitkokiladitya They will learn the hard way when people stop interacting with them. Kindness only goes so far.

You are not wrong. If no one spoke about it, they'll think what they are doing is fine. They should upon signing up take time to read the guidelines.

@amitkokiladitya Yes, sometimes such inconsequential posts could trouble us and we get the feeling that some new users are trying to lower the standard of myLot. Thanks for asking. I am doing well. How are you? Have you come back from your Mom's home?

Newbies are expected to read the guidelines as is the case with any site when one registers. Obviously they do not do it resulting in doing things which are not acceptable here.

I just always say we were once new and some people don't read the help section or about mylot to understand... It's best to just skip and ignore them :)

I'd usually respond by asking them to check the guidelines. If it's done repeatedly then the best thing to do would be to report them to the admin.

You're not wrong. I saw a one liner that I had a very difficult time making a comment about because there wasn't anything to comment on, yet because I read that one line, and as is my practice, I did finally come up with something to say on it yesterday. I am starting to leave those one liners alone. If I get to their profile and their discussion shows no more than one line, I'll leave without opening it up.

I hope that the people who are posting one liners will read this. You are doing them a favor because if they do as you suggest then they will notice that their discussions are not getting deleted by Admin. Great post!!
