Don't judge a person by looks

I know we all know that we should not judge, but sometimes we do it anyway. Here is an example:
We started going to a new beauty salon about a year ago. After a few months the girl who cut our hair left. We were given a different girl our next visit.
When she introduced herself I was a bit concerned. She is a large girl, I would venture to guess six foot five (or taller) and well over 300 pounds. She has tons of tats and her hair black (dyed) hair teased high and only wears flip flops.
Well, I have to say that she is probably the nicest person we've met around here. And don't worry about her size, she is as gentle as can be. I sorta pictured her throwing my head around and yanking the comb through it!! She is also very soft spoken and she is not a gossip.
As chilly as it is today she had on her flip-flops!!
Lesson learned....

@jaboUK I just assumed everyone knows that word...I used to watch a tattoo store show...it fascinated me how intricate some of the designs are.

Every time we moved in the last 15 years(4 times) it was starting over and each town we probably went to two or three different shops.

I am glad you ended up liking her. A good hairstylist is hard to find. I never judge people based on their looks. I would hate to think that somebody would do that to me but I am sure there are those who do.

I am judged all the time and I know it. Mostly due to the fact I'm a Yankee living in the south and don't think or act the same as they do.

You should never judge a person by looks and in my view you should really never judge a person at all

Easier said than done in some cases. I'm not perfect so I know I do it/have done it.

@celticeagle I was a hoot in my younger day, I'm just an old lady who still enjoys playing pranks on my husband.

We can't really tell how nice a person is until we get really close to them. Good thing she's a good one.

If we didn't like her we would have gone elsewhere - there are only 4 salons in our little town and we've tried two so far.

Having been a store owner, I learned how easy it was to misjudge a person. That said, I don't care, but I don't want the girl with the dreadlocks checking me out at the grocery store. She just looks dirty.

Until and unless we don't know the person inside out, we can't really judge them :) Thanks for sharing the wonderful experience!

I know you 'shouldn't judge a book by its cover' which is the same thing you're saying but at first, the cover is all you have to go by. So, to some degree, it is hard not to judge just a little bit. I do wish girls wouldn't get tats though.
