Do you think your dreams affect your mood the next day?

I had a really good dream the other night about some positive people from my past. I wound up having a really good day, engaging with lots of people, feeling confident in whatever I did, and in general enjoying life.
The next night, I had a bad dream about someone I cared about. Not really a nightmare--just a dream that left me feeling unsettled, wondering about the person I'd been dreaming about. I wound up having a more reserved day, being "polite" to people, but not really "feeling it.
That got me to wondering about the extent to which our drams affect our next day. I know that dreams can help us problem-solve, and that they can help us "process" underlying emotional issues. But do you find that they affect how our next day goes?

I accepted long ago that my dreams affect my mood. But I'd rather have dreams than not have them. Have taken medications or been given medications that let you sleep but block out your brain / dream activity. When I became conscious and aware I did not like the feeling that time had been snatched from me, I was never going to get it back, and I had no clue what had happened. No memory. No dream. No nothing. The affect on my mood? It felt scary!

I think they do. If I have a weird dream I feel weird all day.

I know mine do for sure. If I had a nightmare, I am normally really paranoid and scared, if I have a dream of the past I am nostalgic, if I have a happy dream I am normally really happy and I love dreams that are weird because I get so inspired.

@TheHorse Haha, I love weird, especially when it feels like I am on type of hallucinogen.

very much so, if I have a bad one, or an unsettled one, I am a bit off the next day.

No, I have dreams quite often but they don't impact my day.

No, because I hardly recall my dream when I wake up.

@TheHorse There are times that our dreams keep on bothering us so it affects our mood. Especially if that dream is something about bad things or bad people that may cause our lives.
But if we just let those dreams slip away from our minds the time we woke up in the morning, it will really not affect us.

Not really. But sometimes I can remember that what I was doing the next day I had already dreamt about it the night before.

Well it is how you fall asleep really. 8 hours of whatever you fall asleep thinking and feeling. It is very important to feel good when you fall asleep for this reason. It sinks into the subconscious mind.

I tend to think so. That when you have a good dream all turns out bright the next day but when you have a bad dream, the day starts and you get all these emotional issues.
