impulsive decisions

My Baby Brother {not so much a baby anymore, but younger than me so I get Big Sister privileges and can call him what I want} moved to my neck of the woods last summer. I say my neck of the woods, but mean, not as far away as he was before he moved. Both he and his beloved work in the same city as me.
Despite this, we rarely catch up. They live no further away than my MiL and I see her weekly!
So it was a rather lovely text I received from him last night saying he was getting off work early today, should he come and pick me up and we could go for coffee. We didn't go for coffee. We went to the pub instead. It was an alcohol free visit and the weather is so cold that we all opted for hot drinks.
And, of course, you can't visit a pub these days without eating. My rumbling belly was satiated by lmeatballs and gnocchi. It was heavenly.
Diet? What diet!?
*sigh*
We did well though . No starters, no sides, no pudding. We knew we could do it, and it also means I still haven't exceeded my daily calorie intake. Go Me!
And now Sleep beckons. I trust that he and Bed will be as nice as they were last night. Well, I can dream, no?

Sounds like you had a wonderful outing with your Baby brother. The meal sounds good too and even better than you didn't overindulge.

Nice to catch up with family. I'd never go into a pub and not order a drink or two.

@poppylicious I've got 3 little brothers. They never take me out for a meal. Envy.
