In Guyana ,South America legend has it that visitors who eat Labba meat and have a drink of creek water - also called "black water"- are sure to return. I am not sure if visitors are told of this before they partake of the tasty fare, but in any event legends such as this one are not taken too seriously. The Labba also known as "Lowland Paca" lives in rainforests or near rivers and streams. Its diet consists of leaves , stems, roots and fruit. The meat is prepared in various ways and served in restaurants and food stalls in some parts of the country. It may be a prized game animal but it does look like a very large rodent.

Ugh, no thanks. Lol! I've eaten many unusual, to me, foods, but there are just some things that make me retch. I drank the mineral water in Bath, England and almost vomited right then and there in the restaurant.

@Kandae11 Yes, that, too. I would never drink out of a stream, but the waters in Bath are high in the good minerals.

South America has some amazing creatures that most of us don't hear much about.

It is well known in Mexico, South America and parts of Central America. It is called by different names in some countries.
