Good evening. We are waiting for a wintry mix of weather soon.
Do you know how to talk to your doctor?does he listen.
How do you greet him went walking in his office.
most doctors have a busy workload and just a few minutes to each patient.
Are you getting the time and attention that you need?
I always greet my doctor when walking in the office.
Like you have lost some weight etc.family.
I try to make a human connection.
I do not accept this is from aging.BS
Do not be afraid to speak up.Some doctors can misdiagnosed
Taking test that you do not need.
The most time with each patient is about 15 minutes.
Do you try to get your message across?does he or she cut you off.
These are some of the things been bothering me some.
Maybe time to change Dr.many are not accepting new patients.
This is my rant. How do you fare.

I am very lucky to have a doctor that not only listens to me but is willing to spend time without making me feel like he's rushing to the next appointment

We both have doctors we trust at the moment. It can be hard to find a good doctor that's for sure.

I have conversations with my doctor and consider him a friend. He has been my doctor for around twenty years.

I am quite lucky because my local surgery has a group of well established and friendly GPs. But I still don't like going! Over here a consultation is usually about ten minutes, but can take longer or shorter depending on the issue.

I only get to see mine for about 15 minutes, but he does listen to me in case he has to adjust my meds.

I saw several doctors on several occasions before anyone actually listened to anything I had to say. I'd be fobbed off over and over again. It must have taken a good few years before one doctor finally sent me for tests. I still don't really have answers, although I do have some explanations for certain things and I know there is nothing seriously wrong with me. I gave up trying to get anyone to do anything about my back pain.
I also saw a doctor when my son was a baby. I knew there was something wrong but the doctor, again, fobbed me off and assumed I was just being overly concerned as a first time mother. The doctor didn't seem to like it when I pointed out that this was, in fact, my second child. A few years later, my son was diagnosed (by someone else) with various issues (including the issue which I was, apparently being over protective about) and the same doctor is now really good with my son. It's as if she didn't believe me but accepted there was a problem when told by another professional. Then there are doctors like the one my mum had when my sisters and I were little. The one who said that if my mum thought we had chicken pox, then we probably did as she'd had more experience with it than the doctor.
It's not much use trying to change my doctor. I see different ones at the same practice as it depends who's available. It's also almost impossible to get an appointment whichever practice I use.

My doctor listens to me. Every doctor I've ever had I have told them on the first appointment that I am not stupid, I know my body, and I expect them to respect my opinion, that I will come in having researched things before the consultation and that I want a say in my treatment. If not, tell me now and I'll go elsewhere. I've never had a doctor turn me away.
The doctor I have now averages about 20 minutes per appointment, longer if the patient needs it. She is an osteopath, which is a regular medical doctor with extra time spent studying bones and muscles. Osteopaths take a holistic approach, meaning that they believe your life influences your health. They are concerned about everything and they listen well!

I find they only listen half the time and it usually comes when you stroke their ego. lol

In the UK we get 10 minutes with a doctor unless we specifically book a double slot. I have been with mine for maybe 15 years and I have to say she is a very good and sympathetic listener.
