I Don't Know

Today has been a very off day for me. I don't want to say I'm depressed, because I don't think I am. However, my level of wanting to do anything is so far down the totem pole, it's almost non-existent.
I felt bad because I didn't go to the pool this morning. Initially that was because I woke with a migraine in the making. I got rid of it at the onset. Then I found myself cast from my apartment because they were salting the parking lot. I was none too pleased, but found it was a good decision not to go to the pool this morning. It was dangerous out there. I needed help getting to my car so I wouldn't fall on the ice.
Shopping helped my mood, but only for a short time. Getting my hair done helped my mood, but only for a short time. Eating when I got home and getting on the computer helped my mood, but only for a short time.
On one hand I want to quit - everything. On the other I want to just go to bed and stay there until this mood passes. Then again, I want to watch TV, might not be anything on, but I do have movies and the Olympics yet on the DVR. But I don't know if I really want to do that either.
I don't know. I hate this fog I'm in. I'd like to be my normal upbeat person. I don't know what to do.
I'm here and playing my game. Maybe I should do neither, but then what would I do? Hate this fog.
Do you get in these kinds of moods where you don't know what it is you want to do and nothing is helping your mood?
Thanks for reading.

Doing better today, thanks. I realized a little bit ago that I listened to the news yesterday and that always puts me in a down mood.

Sometimes we just need to rest. Take a break from the ordinary. Read this cute saying on Facebook that was something like "When the going gets tough, take a rest. Don't quit." Made me think!

I have those moods all the time. I want to do many things all at once and nothing at all. And it comes down to making a choice on what I want to really do. I come online and like you said, I get bored quickly. Depression is something that can do this to a person, I should know, I do suffer from it. But then there are the times when I am full of energy and life and feel as if nothing can stop me. But they are short lived moments these days. I have many things to live for, my children being one of them. But it is all my depression that puts me down. Plus my diabetes. Which I need to get back under control again. Other than that I am okay. So I do sympathize with you on feeling that way.

Thanks. I've never suffered from clinical depression. I just have those down moments every once in a while, but nothing serious. Today I'm doing much better as compared to yesterday. I think it's a weather thing. We've had such a different winter this year. So much rain in the forecast as opposed to snow. I would love to see more snow and less rain.
I hope life gives you more to smile at.

Try this :
Stay on here and perhaps on your game, but find any kind of music to play in the background at a low setting. If you have sattelitte there are all sorts of music channels that offer relaxing melodies. You want it to be low enough where it's not intrusive or distracting, but loud enough for your mind to pick up on it.
When I feel the way you do? I do this and it helps keep me centered enough to where I eventually calm down.
I hope it helps you as well!

@just4him Yes, I try to listen to the news as sparingly as possible. It doesn't seem as if there is enough good news lately and so much political garb in it, it's hard to enjoy!

Music is good. Right now I have the music from the game. It signals when something is upgraded or battles are finished or tasks are done, so I don't need to be there 100% of my time and can be here. I also have laundry to do today, so that will take me out of the house and I'll see my son for a little bit as well. So things are better today than they were yesterday.
I think one thing that set off my mood yesterday, as I think about it, more than the weather, was the fact I listened to the news first thing. There is something so depressing about the news. It has a tendency to put me in a bad mood from the git go.

It is hard to deal with that kind of feeling. But every time I got that, I just get a book and read. I love reading especially those inspirational ones. It uplifts my spirit and motivates me to go on and be alive again. I hope you will feel better soon.

At times I think we all get into moods like this. I hope it passes for you soon. When I get like that I listen to worship music and pray.

I can relate to your mood. I'm always like that. I don't feel upbeat and I feel so bored I just want to lay in the bed and rest. Hope this feeling or mood go away.

It did. I don't watch the news because it's so depressing and that's what happened with just five minutes watching it.

I think it may be a residual of the migraine and unless it lasts more than a day, I wouldn't be too concerned. I do hope you are feeling ore yourself today.

I think I figured it out. I watched the news first thing yesterday morning. I don't watch the news because it's so depressing. I didn't today and my mood is lighter, but the weather is still putting a downer on it, but not like yesterday.

@just4him - I'm so sorry you are going through this. Perhaps you should talk to your doctor and try an anti-depressant. Your insurance might cover a few visits to a therapist, too. Exercise and sunshine are very important. I hope you find something that helps.

@just4him - I'm so glad to hear that you are doing better this morning. Sometimes, we just have to be patient and let things work themselves out.

I go to a counselor now, but not a therapist in that sense. I really don't need an antidepressant. I'm not a normally depressed person. I think it's this winter weather. Normally winter is my favorite time of year and I'm always happy and have a smile on my face when I see those snowflakes. This year it's rain, sleet, and ice and very little snow. We have more coming tomorrow, so another reason not to go to the pool. And my medication isn't working again, so there's another reason for being off in this fog. It will all straighten itself out. I'm actually doing better this morning than yesterday.

Try eating some chocolate. It helps to perk you up emotionally. My other suggestion is to try a really violent movie or a lot of fast pace action. It is therapeutic.I watch my daily quota of violence in wrestling. Or just hug your cat.

Chocolate would give me a bad headache, I don't like violent movies, and I don't have a cat. I love chocolate, but there are only certain times I can eat it without it giving me a headache and only dark chocolate. The last time I had chocolate it resulted in a headache. Violent movies for the sake of violence never attracted me. I do like fast action movies that have a good plot line to them. I'm allergic to cats. I can't have pets where I am.
My mood was the result of watching depressing news. I don't watch it because it is depressing.
