So, I was given these bananas last week that were green. I thought no biggie, bananas always ripen within a few days..Not! I put them in a grocery bag, as that is supposed to help them ripen. They have not! Anybody have any tips how I can get these to ripen?

I am wondering if when they were green, they were too under ripe? My problem is the opposite where they get ripe way too fast - even if I buy them green.

I think they would have to be in a warm place to ripen.

I have never had a problem with my bananas ripening. If anything mine ripen too fast. Hopefully you can figure out a way to get them to ripen.

i got curious about this and searched it online. i saw some websites saying you add an apple in the brown bag with the green banana then clip it tightly so there's no oxygen.

Well it's not too warm in here being as it is wintertime. Maybe I could put them closer to the heater.

I can guarantee you. You cannot stop them from ripening. That is the hallmark of bananas. There is very little one can do to stop the process (lol) Give it time.

I fear they were picked up too soon, let them rest in the paper bag for another couple of days.

I think they were way too underripe. I always buy them with very little green showing.

I have no clue how to make them ripen faster I would just leave them out on the counter.

Put them in a tight air place, a warm place, where they wont be disturbed for a few days and they will eventually ripen.
