One it's contagious. If you are around a negative person you start being negative.
I've seen a lot of negativity on the site lately and it makes me wonder what everyone has to be negative about?
I know some of it has to do with the inauguration today and I even read the news headlines and it's pretty bad in Washington D.C. But why get so violent about it?
It isn't just the inauguration, though, there are a variety of reasons a person is negative, and none of those reasons are good.
Being positive is also contagious and puts a smile on your face, lifting your spirits.
If you're being negative you need to snap out of it. Find something to make you smile, stay away from those things that make you feel negative, and soon you will be more positive in everything you do.
There's more to life than being someone's downer.
Thanks for reading.

Are all these people who are being negative on this site the same ones who said two weeks ago during New Years that this was going to be a great year? I guess they don't have the willpower to keep that resolution! Lol

@just4him It's hard to believe we barely made it 20 days into the new year before everybody's resolutions got thrown out the window.

@moffittjc It really is a shame. Or maybe they didn't make one to be positive.

Exactly! I got your point. Sometimes people are just so stuck up in being negative than they never see anything positively anymore. And that's sad. And that's why we fail to achieve our goals sometimes.
I told myself that I'll stay away from all the negativity in life, including negative people.

I have been trying to be positive, but the one day I felt down and shared it with everyone. Now I will try to b more upbeat again.

I understand having a rant now and then, I do it too. What I don't understand is the mean spirited negativity I'm seeing.

There is nothing wrong with being down. Everyone is subject to have difficult days. When I think of negativity I think of people who choose to be cruel, hateful and just downright evil. I have my days where I am not 100% and thats okay. I think if I were at 100% all the time I wouldn't be human. We have good days and bad days. Its the attitude and spirit within us thats gets us from 1 day to the next.

You can't help it if you feel negative sometimes. When nothing good is happening you will feel like that. Hoping makes it better.

I agree. You can't be positive all the time. But being negative all the time isn't good.

@just4him Yes. You have to step up if your always feeling like that. It could lead to depression too.

I must admit, there are days I let what the politicians are doing to get the worst of me.
Especially with BritExit on the horizon and a lot of EU companies getting more discriminate against UK applicants. The prospects are not looking good. Not to mention our government have no clue but empty promises. The lack of concrete action or affirmative steps to put a plan in place is disconcerting. So ya, if one read the news, one would erm.. pack up
Then, I would remind myself that "this world will come to pass, and I should not focus my attentions on the making or the breaking of this world." and God is in control.

@just4him ya, though I guess I have much to learn regarding letting go. I went to the women's match yesterday in Ireland. It was a peaceful protest, and I guess it was something worth doing, as there were the ideals such as "equal opportunity for women at a work place" which is worth supporting.

I am positive I have reasons to be worried about the state of things, but I am also positive this country lets me do things like call my reps, write letters, sign petitions.
Trying to do what I can to change what I can, and if doesnt work, well at least I tried!
The sun is also shining finally today, so there is that.

A hearty smile is powerful and release others from all negativity. If you give a smile to someone who seems to be strongly serious, that one cannot avoid to bring you back another smile as an answer to yours one. It's a reaction no one is able to avoid.
