~The Tree Hanging~

The house we live in now was empty for many years before we moved in. My husband and I didn't know why until a couple days ago. He was talking to a couple neighbors and they told him a 20 year old guy hung himself in the tree right outside our home. My husband told me and said that's something he would have wanted to know before moving in. It doesn't really worry or concern me to be honest, I feel at peace here. That's what matters. Do you know the history of your home? Any deaths happen where you live?

The property that we bought belonged to a temple and we are the first one's since the creation of the world to occupy this place. This temple property ran into several acres. It was divided and sold. It is now a pretty place with so many houses all around. Reports have it that a young girl's soul is roaming around here and those labourers who were staying here to build the house have heard her. But not we.

@allknowing As long as she isn't a bad spirit I am sure it will be fine and since you haven't heard anything I'm sure it's okay.

Our house is built on the site of a house that burnt down - which is different I know. Although it's sad about the hanging, it wouldn't really worry me either although I can understand that it would have been nice to know about it first. Hiding the fact makes it seem a big deal and that's a pity.

@JudyEv Yeah I am not too worried about it. My husband just wanted to know before we moved in about something like that-especially since he remodeled the place as well.

I know what used to be here before the apartment complex was built. I have lived in this part of town most of my life. I probably would have done a saging when I moved in if I had known but, that is just me.

I don't think anything seriously bad happened in this home, but I don't know. Bad, and sad things can happen anywhere though.

@paigea That is true, bad things happen everywhere. As long as I feel at peace I'm okay with it.

@LovingMyBabies Sometimes I think we need to have a happy event at a place that has some negative things in the past; to sort of put those negative thoughts to rest.

Speculations are rife that where our home is made might or might not have been a place to bury bodies on the sly. Coz before it was built, it was all a forest area with no home in sight. Murderers, Robbers, etc were notorious for hiding their killings in the wilds.

@LovingMyBabies Blood splatter on the walls? Yep! Mysterious apparition? Yep! Lit candle when no one is in the room? Yep! Being hit by something invisible? Yep! Hearing someone call your name when no one is there? Yep! Thankfully none of those happened with me but has happened with several family members in the house.

Sometimes you never know. Things like that dont really bother me every house has some kind of history to it. I wonder though what kind of stories we will hear about our new house, lol.Looks like the first weekend of Feburary we will be moving finally.

Yikes, that would bother me. I think I might be concerned with bad karma or ghosts. I am the first person who ever lived in my house, and I think this whole area was farmland at one time.

Wow that is kind of creepy. Does your husband believe in superstitions like if you live in the house something will happen? Like you said you are at peace and like it there. Do you think the landlord couldhave kept it from you guys because maybe he knew you would not take the place if you found out? Nothing like that has ever happened to me any place I have lived thank god.

@LovingMyBabies As long as you feel good about the place and like it that should be all that matters.

@Tina30219 He thinks something could start possibly since he also remodeled the house and that could start things. Yeah I think the landlord kept it quiet, but I love this house so it doesn't worry me. I have good feelings about this place.

It wouldn't bother me either minus the fact of oh that sucks that someone did that. But beyond that, oh well. It isn't worth dwelling over.

We built the house but only after we moved in did someone tell my husband that the land used to be some kind of aboriginal burial lot in the old days. My husband says spirits are everywhere anyway, so as long as they don't bother us, we're not bothered by them either. And I'm happy to say that we've lived here peacefully all these years...

I am sure that I have lived in places where deaths have taken place, but I am sure none have happened in our current house. I lived in one very creepy place in San Antonio as a kid.

When our children were small we rented a house that backed onto the community cemetery. In fact the living room window overlooked the cemetery,. We has friends who felt that was creepy. We had very quiet neighbours.

My first home was new so there was nothing there supposedly. The second one there was something there but not much. But as for the Man who did that to himeself he has probably gone in peace and that is how I would think of it. If you donĀ“t feel anything there only peace he probably went straight over to the other side with no problems. Wishing you much happiness in that home and try not to let it bother you if you can. You need a lot of peace right now.

When I bought this land, it was completely unincorporated @LovingMyBabies ; however, as I was walking the 20 acres, I did find Indian spearheads, which means that this could very well have been a location for an Indian camp. I donated the spearheads to the local museum.

When we were house shopping, my husband insisted we steer clear of a house because a previous resident had passed there. It didn't bother me, but we eventually found our home. As far as I know, no one has passed here, but the owners before us, had lived here for 30-40 years and never mentioned anything unusual. They now live around the corner from us.

Over the years, whenever I visited one of our larger towns , if it was available, I would rent a second floor apartment with a verandah which over looks the grounds and has a wonderful sea view. The landlord and his family reside in a large house on one section of the grounds. Recently it came on the news that his sixteen year old daughter (who I met on several occasions) hung herself from the breadfruit tree which is just outside the kitchen window of that apartment.
