Does the queen need a stipend?

I was reading through the list of the richest royals in the world, In some way it is quite funny to me when I think of the history in which these people have accumulated their wealth. It's sad and disappointing to me to call some of these people royals now. Few months ago I remember seeing the news and the reporter randomly asking people on the streets of London, whether the tax payers have to pay for the ridiculous bill for the renovation of the Buckingham palace and this is on top of fact that the queen gets a 8 million pound stipend from the UK government. Does the government need to pay her a stipend or does the tax payers need to pay for her renovation? what are your thoughts?

Their queen costs to each UK citizen 69 pence a year. I think that having a king is cheaper than to have a president, not that a president is paid that much, but in Europe the presidential campaigns are paid by the tax payer, and they cost a lot more than 8 million pound, and a president employs a lot of people around him who are also paid by the state, i.e. the tax payer.

exactly, the whole thing is nasty by some means. as long as these politicians do good to the state, I am fine with that. but most of the time is them or the family that benefits rather than the common man

@topffer the list I was reading says the jewels and crowns does not include in her personal wealth while they was estimating her wealth, and then to say she needs a stipend is ridiculous

Seeing as I don´t live over there in Great Britain although I wish I did sometimes I have never given it much thought. I suppose if it does need restoring maybe its to keep the Tourists going there presuming that they do that is. However I am not keen on financing that or our Politicians as everytime we spend money we are giving a certain part of it back to them.

what is the point of renovating inside the palace when tourists are not allowed to go inside

@suhail1 Thought you meant the outside. I don´t get half of that kind of News where I live. I knew that she had got a nasty Cold and that she was better and that was it. Right if its on the inside its only for herself and no one else can get to see it unless they film it and sell it in a Dvd say. A Dvd is not the real thing either so I would not fancy giving money for that either.

The Queen is cheaper for each British citizen than the cost of a President for most "democratic" countries. I think that British people are happy to have their Queen.

@suhail1 The British royalty should be annulled when the present Queen does. They are all weslthy enough to pay their own way like I do.
