Women are better than men.

Hello everyone!
Many say that women are equal to men. Some says that men are superior to women. However, some feels that a woman is greater than a man. A great scholar has said –
“I think women are foolish to pretend they are equal to men.
They are superior and always have been.
Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater.
If you give her sperm, she will give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she will give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she will give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she will give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.”
-William Golding
I loved what William Golding has stated and it stands almost true.
What are your take on it?

Yes, you are right but women are superior on some account than their counter parts.

I found the words very logical, therefore, I thought that it could be discussed on mylot. There may be different opinions on the quoted words, no doubt about it.
Yes, both are equally good but I still feel that women score on some of the issues, more than men.

@SIMPLYD I always think highly of women. I am in this world because of a woman i.e. my mother.

@dpk262006 You know what is true for some women, does not mean that can be applied to all women. Some are really bad, they kill their children, cheat their husbands and ruin the families. You can never "generalize".

Yes, you are right that both men and women have many different qualities which are only specific to a particular gender. However, I would like to go with statement of Golding.
PS - Nice profile picture. Where was it taken?

Yes, you could have a different opinion on this statement. May be it differs from individual to individual, rather than generalizing it for a particular gender. I feel you could safely count yourself in the category of greater women, who takes care of her family with all her sincerity.

@much2say You deserve compliments.
I agree that basically you are sincere person, irrespective of your gender. You do not want to be termed as sincere because you are a woman. Had you been a male, in that case also you would not have faulted in discharging your duties.

@dpk262006 Awww . . . what a nice thing to say! Well, honestly, I can be good at some things, but other things need work. If anything, I just try to do my best as a person - not necessarily because I'm a woman.

men and women have different attributes and excel in different areas of life, and rely on each other to maintain civilization and biological reproduction. It's an apples to oranges comparison to talk about which is "better".

@dpk262006 I guess it depends on how you define or measure superiority. Men are superior at some things, women at others.

It's like the saying "God is Good-all-the-time." Sure he is ... if you're only looking for goodness! If you're looking for badness, you'll see he's plenty o` that too!
Mr. Golding's action/reaction picture is far too simple to work in real life ... I've 'smiled at' legions of women and have far-less than 'legions' of hearts!
And nothing about 'her womanhood' makes groceries any-more "a meal" than they were when I bought them at the store! (of course, he probably wrote that back when every woman's career-path was "baby, student, secretary, housewife, spinster.")

What I understand is - Golding's observations do not hold true in today's world and you don't agree with his statements.
You have a point, his statement may not be fully true in the changing environment and the way women are progressing now a days.

@dpk262006 I believe in equality, there are some thing which men cannot do --only women and there are things which women cannot do or should not try to do. I believe in respect for each other and appreciation for each other's roles. I would not wish to be a man, I prefer to be what I am -- a very feminine woman.

Had there been no woman, you and me would not have seen this beautiful world.
You are very right that a woman plays many roles in life, with near perfection.
