I guess it is better that i am not feeling well this weekend and not next weekend. I should be feeling much better my then. My daughter and her fiance are having their engagement party next Saturday evening at the bar where she works. It should be a good time. It will be nice to get out for the evening and have some fun.
I guess they are not going to get married away after all. That was their plan but there was just so much involved in getting married in another country that they decided to get married here first and then go on their trip after.
I am not sure when it will but it will be a small wedding with the Justice of Peace followed by a get together for family and friends. They want to keep it simple.

@TheInvisibleMan Lol, my father was drinking champagne with his meals, and I have still many old bottles of champagne to drink in my cellar.

Well, I hope you stay well for the engagement party!! Hope you have a lots of fun and tell us all about it!! Nothing wrong with a simple ceremony, sounds like they're thinking of the future and saving money by not having a "big" wedding!!

Yes they are. They will be a blended family so they need the money for their families.

That happens sometimes too. Things just keep getting bigger and bigger and the cost really starts to add up.

How exciting! It doesn't matter how large or small or intimate a wedding is, All that matters is that the couple is happy and lives a long, healthy, and wonderful life together. I'm sure your daughter's engagement party will be lots of fun!!!

Simple is the best way. Why spend a small fortune on a huge wedding? Even though we did our wedding on a shoestring, the budget was tight. We had an outdoor wedding at one of our state parks. Everyone brought a dish to share. We provided beverages and most of the food. It was a good time!

@Happy2BeMe we told everyone to bring a swimsuit and towel so they could go take a dip in the lake to cool off. Many did and were glad to have done it. The weather was a balmy 90 degrees F that day.

Wow! That sounds exciting. What are their nationalities? Getting married with a person of different nationality is exciting and challenging I think. My boyfriend is a Korean and I am a Filipina. I do wonder if we will get married and if we will, I also wonder how would it be.

@Happy2BeMe Wow! Your last sentence is timely for the article I am writing now in my love. I agree, "love conquers all. "

That's the best way - keep it simple . . . save all that money and put it towards something themselves down the road - perhaps their trip. Well hope you feel better and that you all have a blast at their engagement party . . . congratulations to them!

Thank you. I agree. I hate to see them wasting money on a big wedding when the money could be spend in other places.
