Treasure hunting in Ocala

I had a coupon for a buy one get one free at a local hamburger joint so hubs and I went out for lunch today. The burgers were wonderful and we have now found out burger place when we are in Ocala.
After lunch, we went to a favorite antique store of ours. It is a multi-dealer shop and I found a few things here over the years. Today was no exception. I spied a trifle bowl that looked interesting. I saw that it was Irish crystal and even better was only $10. I checked it carefully for defects and found none. It is now gracing my display cabinet until I use it.
After that, we headed to the local Goodwill where I found a pyrex pie dish, a small pressed glass cup and a napkin holder. We also found a wood tray table so hubs can eat in the recliner, lol it was a very good day.
After that, I headed to Barnes and Noble to pick up a few magazines and get a cappuccino. All in all, a very productive day.

That is what I thought and even the man at the antique store was rather stunned by the price.

It seems you had a successful hunting day with many treasures to keep for later... except the hamburger of course.

I think I would like to when I have some money to spend. It is probably fun to just browse those types of shops without purchasing too.

@BelleStarr I ate at them years ago in Pensacola. I think they are still around. Looks like there are 38 of them in FL
Browse all locations in FL to find your local Whataburger - home of the bigger, better burger. Whataburger uses 100% pure American beef served on a big, toasted five-inch bun.

That sounded like a terrific treasure hunt and I love the dish! I have heard about it but can't think of what kind of store or whatever Barnes and Noble is right now--is it a department store?

It is a bookstore and they have a cafe where you can sit and peruse your potential purchases and drink coffee and maybe eat a goodie.

Now you are making me whine. I wanted to stop at the Goodwill today after I did my grocery shopping. Unfortunately I was zapped from the shopping and wanted to straight home and put my feet up.
I haven't been to an antique shop in years. When my dear friend Judy was alive, we would browse the shops in the Northeast Kingdom and often find some great stuff for a song. I miss those days.

@BelleStarr sadly, even though it is not too far from where I live, I have never been there. Maybe I can get my sister to venture there with me one day. We are always up for an adventure.

@BelleStarr A friend saw us on Facebook using a plastic bowl for ice when my brother made us pineapple martinis before dinner and suggested she buy us a housewarming present of an ice bucket. Two days later, we had one. Did I tell you hubby is OCD in that respect? . Love the looks of your Irish crystal. Did you buy any in Ireland? We looked in Waterford, but got a better deal at home. Imagine that?
