A Severe Weather Warning for South-West Western Australia

We have our very own Severe Weather Warning and I feel almost justified in doing a post about weather. My first ever I think. We won't be having ten inches of snow or a hurricane or tornado but some parts have already had heavy rains and there are flood warnings all over the place.
Mostly it seems it is just unseasonal and heavy rain with perhaps some thunderstorms. Hardly worth making a fuss over really although those in flood-prone areas wouldn't share my views. Our visitors from Taiwan are here and we still intend to get to Gnomesville tomorrow. Unfortunately many gnomes will no doubt be a bit splashed with mud but that's okay.
There has just been a road accident ten or so kilometres from us and the rescue helicopter has just gone overhead on its way to the nearest hospital. I hope it wasn't too bad. No doubt it will on the news tonight.

Our weather hasn't been discussion worthy this winter. Wind... We are accustomed to, snow...not happening....cold...its winter.

That's good. Even our 'bad' weather seems very tame compared to what I read here.

I enjoy reading weather related stories and see what other people are experiencing. Have fun with your Taiwan visitors. Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope it wasn't too bad.

@Happy2BeMe We are going off touring again today and staying away a night. Tomorrow we'll leave them in another town. At least that is the plan at the moment.

We've only had two inches so it is a bit of a fizzog here - which is great. I can do without dramas at this stage of my life. :)

@JudyEv maybe not, but if you consider how much space got 2 inches it adds up!

We're on a hill for starters and we've only had 2 inches. It is just the best place to live. We never seem to get real extremes of anything.

This is not ordinary weather that you are reporting about. Yet another observation that nature is not behaving.

I always think I could cope with a flooded house once but more than that I'd be moving. I know you're not taking about floods. Just sayin'...... It must get tiring shovelling snow.

That rain is coming down pretty hard in the photo. Are you basically dry where you are at?

I'm not sure what you mean. The photo is out the front door but we've only had 2 inches which hasn't done any damage at all. We've been out all day and haven't seen any sign of flooding in our area. Sometimes it takes a week for the rain which has been falling in the catchment areas to reach the local rivers.
