Old is gold! First it was vinyl and now it is old phones! Youngsters will probably have no idea of what this phone was but to some of us, me included, it was our very first mobile phone Hours and hours spent playing with the Snake too It was outstanding and the battery lasted such a long time before it needed recharging. It was indestructable too! I still have two of these phones and one is on charge right now. I haven't used them for years but they still work! Any Lotters who used and still have their old Nokia 3310?
Nokia will re-launch the 3310, perhaps the best-loved and most resilient phone in history. The phone, originally released in 2000 and in many ways beginning the modern age of mobiles, will be sold as a way of getting lots of battery life in a nearly indest

Ah! It was my first as I had to use one for work. Then I bought a second one so that I had a personal number too.

@AbbyGreenhill You could take a lot of photos and then send them to friends without having to talk to them .

@mysdianait I don't even like talking on the phone so having a cell phone would be pure torture to me LOL.

Me! Me! Yes, I did! I had one and it was stolen. This is great news for my husband! I must tell him! We had a matching phone then (mine was green and his was blue). He still charges his until now too but the battery is not working properly anymore. We think because it hasn't been used for years then it's starting to not working too well. But he has always wanted another one like that!

Oh wow! Would you believe that we both had the same phone! According to the article (and others too) it will not cost very much at all at $59. I almost sold mine a couple of years back when they were worth much more but I never got round to it so I still have them. They were (maybe still are) collector's items.

I had one too. It survived the longest among the phones I had. Will surely get one for my wife, who still prefers the keypad than the touchscreen.

Before this announcement, they were worth quite a lot here. I don't know whether this new one will mean that they are no longer a collector's item or not. Maybe you have it in some cupboard that you never open and it is worth something too.

@mysdianait I have a lot of things to clean up. I think that if the Nokia appears, I´ll welcome it. But for now, I´m taking out zillions of clothes off my closets to give to the people who lost everything in the forest fires.

This was our family's second phone, and the most used one. And now it sits leisurely in a cupboard. Don't think the battery still works.

I recharged both of mine u since I posted this and they are both working perfectly! Now I will decide whether to use them again or sell them if they are still worth a lot after the new version is released.

I had Nokias for about 7 years up until 2002, including one like this which I sold. I am a little too reliant on many smartphone features nowadays to go back to using a 3310 but it would make a good spare. And I do miss that Nokia ringtone: da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da-daaaa.

Yes that sound is special. As a spare it would be perfect and I will be getting one of the new ones for that purpose.

@asfarasiknow Yes that is what appeals to me too. It would be perfect as a spare for that reason, It would always be available for calls should my smartphone need recharging.

I have another later Nokia - but I don't remember the number - and I am still using it. I have a GalaxyS4 smartphone as my main number and the other Nokia has a number that I no longer use but I keep it in case some office or business has not been informed of the new number yet. Nokia were the best in my opinion

@brokenbee I haven't got a back up phone foor my smartphone. Last year the battery packed up and it took two weeks for the replacement to arrive and I bought a cheap Huawei which I then sold to a friend after I had only used it for those two weeks. If I see a Nokia Android at a good price then I will get one as a back up just in case Always best to have one on hand so as not to be isolated.

@mysdianait Yup!!! And they are back with the Android OS now. Hmmmmmm! The other giants should be scared now! Hihi! For me it is also the best. Before I switched to Android last year, the phone I was using was a Nokia that I bought in 2010. I am still using it right now as my back up phone. Actually, my main cp number is there, so it is still like my main phone. Hihihi

My first phone was Alcatel then Nokia 5110, 3330, 6510, 6100, the first phone with cam back and front I forgot what model it is, and had many others. My Nokia 1110 and C3 are still working but I no longer use them.

I think that they might. They are perfect as a second phone just in case anything happens to your primary phone. Especially as, if they are really the same as the original, the battery lasts for ages before it needs recharging.
