Mylot is a place for discussion but I've been seeing a lot of members posting poems. Also my poetry muse has been pestering me to write one. Maybe now she will leave me alone.
Salvation or Deliverance
A lone eagle circles above the cliff
witness to a play unfolding
the final act in a drama
titled "A continuum spiral"_
life and death's tug of war
(behind the stage curtain
demons are waiting)
It came with the wind
first as a whisper
now thundering across
the blood drenched sky
swirling sands pick up the words
choking his lungs
with it's painful memories
On the jagged edge he sits
feet dangling over eternity's abyss
but for one brief moment he looks
upward
hoping for deliverance
only to be met with silence
For the guilt-ridden
salvation comes below
sweet and honest
it calls out to him
With her name on his lips
into oblivion
a tortured soul leaps
and is set free
The eagle spread it's wings
homeward bound over the horizon
Night shadows creep across
the deserted landscape
nothing remains
but a distant memory

If there is a picture, apart from your profile pic...it's not visible.
The poem seems very profound but I am afraid I am too much 'left brain' to fully understand it. Nice share, though.

@Gita17112016 _ I can see the picture as I write this comment. It appears the photo bug has not been totally fix. the left and the right brain complement each other like the yin and yang of the Tao. too much of one is not good.

@josie_ Okay, i see the picture now Lol. Sadly I agree with you. My left brain is too analytical to appreciate the intuitive side to things. I would love for it to have a balance...and I am working on it!

@ridingbet _Thank you. The photo was taken by another grand daughter. They were fooling around with the camera experimenting with it's manual functions. My grand daughter in the photo is 17 while her cousin who took the picture 14. They both enjoy drawing and painting. I hope their interest in photography continue.

@Linda1234 _I'm glad you like it. I think everyone can do poetry. Our aim is not to write masterpieces but simply to express everyday feelings like love, inspiration, yearnings and yes, despair.

@workathomefan _ Do you still do poetry at present? It is a source of letting off frustrations sometimes for me.
