carpal arthrodesis

my dog under went this procedure 2 weeks ago and has been wearing a splint and heavily bandaged. how long is it recommended to keep her paw strapped up

well thats what i thought but my vet has taken them off 2 weeks after surgery and the wound has opend and cannot be stitches any more they are trying to encoursge secondary skin growth nightmare

Shame poor pooch! I would ask the vet who did the procedure about how the long the splint must stay on. Surely he will need to have it looked at again to check if everything is healing nicely? I hope you dog feels better soon - I know how awful it is to have a sick dog and no way to help them feel better. Spoil him rotten :)

well the vet is the problem we have read everywhere that bandages and splint should not be removed for at least 8 weeks he romoved after 2 weeks
