Bad Start to a Good Day

As I was getting ready to leave this morning for the pool, I tripped and had a bad fall in the apartment. Now a couple weeks ago I bruised a rib on my left side trying to reach into the video cabinet while leaning over the arm of the chair. It's one of the reasons for my very restless nights lately. When I tripped this morning on one of the area rugs, I landed hard on my left knee and hurt my ribs again. I had my recycle bin in my hands which was probably a good thing as I didn't land on my hands. I almost didn't go to the pool because of it, but after a few minutes the pain in my knee disappeared and I could get myself up off the floor and decided, since I was already ready to go to the pool, I was just going to go and hope for the best. I actually had a good hour plus in the pool, after which I went shopping and then to the library and home. So it's been a good day. It's going to take a bit longer for my ribs to heal, and I'm going to have a few more restless nights because of it, but I got everything I need and a good workout too. Now onto interaction. How has your day been so far? Thanks for reading.

Area rugs are not recommended.

You do seem to be a bit accident prone, and I'm sorry to hear about this latest episode. The swim may have done your knee good, so I hope it's ok.

Glad your fall was not any worse. Glad that your day actually went well. Today has been a more quiet day for my husband and I. I slept in and then worked some on my eBay business hoping somehow to produce a sale on there, and then just been spending a lot of time here on myLot while my husband spends time watching movies.

I am glad you could get up and get to the pool and then errands. It may have been just what you needed.

Still going to the pool was probably more therapeutic than you think @just4him .

Yes it is, though I haven't been there except once this week. My feet were so swollen I couldn't get my shoes on, and today the weather is bad, not going anywhere in this storm. I'm not complaining, I love the snow, but only fools and those who need to be out, go out in this.

It does not happen too bad. Though sometimes I have a very bad day. Some misfortunes follow you know!

Oh, ouch! Darn! You know there are little sticky pieces you can put under your area rugs so they stick and you aren't so apt to trip on them. I bet the pool did your body good. Ribs are slow at healing.

There must have been a crease on your rug that resulted in that fall.

I'm sorry that your day started out like that, I hope that its improving. I find now that our weekends are so special now that my husband is working out of town and coming home on the weekends. We just relax and spend time together.

You need to take care! Hot sunny Sunday here, and I'm just off to one of my writing groups.

Possibly the time in the pool actually helped your knee and ribs. It is so easy to fall over. If you're careful all the time it is just one of those things that happen.

I bruised my ribs not long ago also reaching over the arm of my chair to get something. I thought I broke them but no. The doctor says bruising and breaking of ribs hurts both the same.

Oh no!! Well I'm glad the pain disappeared and you were able to get on with your day. Heal up soon! It's 1:00pm now . . . we'll slow to get the day started. We all slept in and barely had breakfast . . . the kids are occupying themselves. It was a hectic week and we're just glad to play it lazy right now!

At least you were not hurt bad and you are ok. Plus you got to go to the pool. Mine is closed on the weekends. So we just went for a nice long walk this morning.

Sorry to hear about your fall. I am glad you weren't hurt too badly. Area rugs cause a lot of injuries.

I am glad that the injury wasn't worse, you will have to be careful with those area rugs.
