There must be something that people miss from their childhood. Good or bad past but I never heard anyone say they don't miss anything or then if they answer they don't really think of it. It's just interesting question to ask from different age and nationality.
I miss the time when I just went out in the forest to build my own "base" No phone or even a watch to check time. I was just living free and doing literally whatever I wanted. There are so many things I miss but that one I miss the most. I'm lucky to have very nice childhood
What do you miss the most from your childhood?

I miss summer where I can play all day and watched television at night. No assignment no pressure just being a kid. I also miss the afternoon sun at my aunt house (where we live when I was young) after school. I miss the ice cream after class and I miss the cakes as my school snacks.

I miss having a close relationship with my cousins and playing with them. I also miss all the fruit trees my dad planted in our first house with the big garden. I miss my climbing tree there -- not that I'd still be climbing it. I miss having my family around. Now my parents are gone and my brother lives five hours away in good traffic.

Sounds cool I always wanted to be able to grow fruit trees in Finland but it's just too cold for the most of them

I miss a street for us children where we could play. And the neighborhood feeling when we felt guarded by all the grownups.

I miss that lovely safe and secure feeling of being with my parents when I was little. They are both gone now but I remember that feeling of being at home and being loved by my family. I often think about it and wish I could go back.

I miss wandering for hours 2 miles in either direction from home, I miss malls, I miss cheap polish dogs and cheap soda, I miss good dollar/discount stores, I miss just tuning the radio to find good songs to tape, I miss the old cars, I miss things costing a lot cheaper

@librarygeek1980 I never liked the malls. They were all alike with the same chain stores, and when they appeared (yes, they were new when I was young) they destroyed our downtown and the independent and unique businesses with it. We don't have any malls in our town, either, and I hope they don't build one. It's nice to be able to tell one town from another. All our towns in the north part of our county are unique and there's not a mall in any of them.

@bagarad I am, actually. I live in a smaller town in Utah, population of less than 10,000. Sadly, malls have gone almost extinct.

I think I mostly miss Mom and Dad paying all the bills! Actually, just playing with the neighborhood kids was a lot of fun. Those were the days!

@GegeTheMechanic I always had a pony and pet lambs. From time to time I had a goat, a tortoise, a chicken, a turkey and once a kangaroo.

I miss going on vacation with my parents when they were still together and being with friends playing not worried about what is going on with all the social media.

Definitely the one thing I miss most about being a child is the basic, simpleness of being ignorant to the harsh realities of the world and just experiencing life by my own means.
