I'm not a tall, skinny person, but I did model professionally. Being a lover of clothes, hair, and makeup made it easy, albeit a fluke. And I loved it!
I was "discovered" by the owner of a huge modeling school in a hospital, no less. We were both patients with nothing serious. She called me a few days later and set up an appointment at her agency. I was teaching 1st grade at the time, so it had to be after school.
After a lengthy interview I attended every class for no fee: Runway, print, hand, photographic, etiquette, hair, makeup, casual modeling, etc. Being an educator, I was hired to teach a few classes a week. I especially loved teaching runway modeling and etiquette classes. They helped me throughout my life.
My modeling discussions will follow.

That is wonderful. My daughter did a lot of modeling growing up. She did it right up until a few years ago. Beautiful picture of your grand daughter!

@Happy2BeMe I was in hair shows, too. However, it was just for different styles. The color was never touched.

@DianneN Yes she did. She also did some hair shows as a hair model and had some pretty cool hairstyles and colors.
That is a great outfit. I can tell she likes it.

Oh wow, that just great, so how did it go, I mean did you pursue it? Your daughter seems to be a model to or a beauty contestant in the near future.

that would hurt my calves for sure @DianneN heck, I have trouble walking if the heel is 2 inches or so. Heck, I was a hippie and only wore moccasins back in 1968 to 1972 ..... my boss at the time put a stop to that siting that they didn't look professional.

One of my very good friends did professional modeling and like you, you can see it today in the way she walks and does her hair and makeup. I can see why they picked you

Yes and it shows you are still very classy and carry yourself very well!
I think you would have loved this programme that was shown in England it was called Ladette to Lady. They taught some really rough girls to become ladies over a period of a couple of months and there was quite a transformation. It was quite eyebrow raising.

@DianneN It was a series over a few weeks I am sure you can find it on youtube. The transformation towards the end of the series is quite remarkable but for some of them you know deep down they will not be able to maintain that kind of cultured behaviour indefinitely.

@garymarsh6 Thanks for explaining that to me. I will certainly watch yours and the entire series. Yes, many have difficulties maintaining what they've learned. Can't wait to view it.

@Jeanniemaries I love to people watch and check out what the women are wearing, including shoes and bags. Some people have a style all their own, be it good or bad. My husband was a college professor, but last night he was dressed conservatively. It was a very staid crowd.

@DianneN Yes, I saw that. I was never into fashion. While my sister and I waited for the doors to open we did some awesome people watching. She mentioned seeing shoes that were more suited for a cocktail dress than the skirt and top worn and other fashion faux pas that I was amazed she knew. I just enjoyed the parade of people in varying degrees of dress. We did notice not a single man was wearing a suit and tie. We loved the guy in a great sports coat, slacks open shirt and sandals. We decided he was a college professor.

@DianneN Yes, I am an amateur model. I deal with modeling actively. I would like to know more about modeling from an experienced person in the USA as you are. So glad to meet you here! Probably you are the right person to share my modeling ideas and suggestions. I mean everybody could do modeling in proper community. It is a hard work too and no need to be in the most prestigious agencies to be a good model.

It was fun, and I had a few good laughs looking at the results of makeup application. Chuckling right now. There was a time in my life as a young mother when I didn't care about clothes, but that changed real fast when I was in a fashion show and realized what I was missing. Lol! That bunk bed is no longer. She has her own bed and her brother has his own room now. Thank you.

Modeling is great if you have the appititude and the physical attributes. Too many think they do and they don't. Someone I knew online, his wife was an AARP model...that's funny..but it worked for her!!
