I have never cashed out here because I never took the time to stay and let my money build up but I notice this morning that I have more than $4!
I think I read somewhere that once you have $5 MyLot will automatically cash this out to paypal, so does that mean we don't have to do anything?
I'm actually quite excited and it will encourage me to interact more :)

Provided that you have entered the email address associated with your PayPal account in your Settings/Account Settings page and once you have reached at least $5 by the last day of any month, payment is automatic and you will receive a payment of whatever your balance was at the end of any month on or before the 15th of the following month. If you don't reach at least $5 by the end of a month, your balance will be carried forward to the next month.

I probably won't make it this month but definitely next if I keep going. Is it always on the last day and if it is more than $5, say it was $5.06, would they just pay out the $5 or the 06 cents as well?

I think that can be done. Your right if you don't make it, then certainly you will have a great payout the following month. I'm fine, if I don't make it, as means really good payout in the future.
