WHAT I ENVY ABOUT MEN.

Don't get me wrong, I love being female, but there is just one thing I envy about the male species - and this is it. A man can get up in the morning - shower and shave or shave and shower whichever one is done first - then he slaps on some aftershave , gets dressed and he is good to go. No bother about putting on eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, foundation, blush, eyelashes, lipstick, nail polish ,etc, etc. With a man - most times - what you see is what you get. These days, I try to be as natural as possible, but I would never leave the house unless I am sure that I am looking my best. What about you? What is the one thing or several things about the male species that you admire or envy? The same question can be asked of men - as regards women.

I do not leave the house without makeup and I wear quite a bit. I am ugly without it. Men are lucky to not have to worry about all the hassle of getting ready as women do but if a man is ugly they cannot wear makeup to make the look better like we can. Well they can but most do not want to.

Maybe as you get older you will not feel the need for makeup. I wore it when I was younger and as time went by I find that I wear it much less and most days not at all

That is so true. They say men look distinguished with grey hair, but women are expected to dye theirs. Of course - some men do dye their gray or wear toupees to cover a bald spot - but they get by either way.

I have decided that I am pretty enough to do without all the makeup, I can pull off my day with a like mascara. I envy that when they get hot they can take off their shirts and walk around and they can pee in the car in bottle in a traffic jam.

In a bottle? I never thought of such an ingenious way- well that is certainly something a woman won't be able to do.

Men can go shirtless. I'm 100% natural. I don't wear make-up, so what you see is what you get. However, I would love to be able to dress down like men do.

@Kandae11 I kind of want to visit the South of France and see how long it would take me to habituate to topless women. There was a topless European woman at our pool (in California) and it took me about 10 minute there.

You know that is a very important one. In my country it gets unbearably hot in the summer time and men can happily go around shirtless while women must be covered.

I'm afraid I don't spend a lot of time getting ready to go out although I'm always clean and tidy. I'm not sure what I envy about men. I'll need to think on it. Probably standing up to pee - that would make it so much easier sometimes.

As a member of the aforementioned male species I can honestly say I do not envy the amount of preparation my missus has to go through to feel ready to leave the house.

@Kandae11 I've sometimes wondered if it is not more of a competition between women than it is for the benefit of us men.

I think women are under pressure to always look their best - they try to impress both sexes.

@DWDavis It is a competition in a way. When a woman enters a room or is walking on the street another woman will automatically check out her shoes - that is the first thing some will look at- then her hair, makeup, the fit of her clothes. Do men do that to each other?

I only wear minimum makeup nowadays, but I'm always clean and tidy. I can't think of anything I envy men for at the moment, and I certainly don't envy their tendency to go bald.

That they don't get as many wrinkles as we do, if we're not careful. And that they are called silver foxes when they get grey in their hair, but we are told we are going grey, that is just no fair @Kandae11 .

I am amazed to watch women on the train or on the bus putting on makeup. I must say I would probably end up with skewered eye ball on the end of the mascara stick! Mind you I must say that with some women once they have applied their make up there is a considerable transformation. Some women use far too much make up and it is not necessary!

I see too much makeup as vulgar. In the US, some women look downright "slutty," even if they're not.

I have always admired women for (besides the obvious) their point of view on different things. Women seem to see things differently than men do and it is helpful many times to get a woman's perspective on things.
