Oh, No!

My husband did it again.
He came home with a painting he loves.
We first saw it in an antique shop in December. We were looking for a large painting for our family room back home in Connecticut. I thought the blue was all wrong, since our family room is green and pink. I do love ballerinas, however.
We both revisited the shop. Again I told him it wasn't right.
He has revisited the shop, many times. And here it is!
He never thought of the cost of shipping it home, either.
I hope it works in our green and pink family room.
Men!

If it clashes you can always try to find another room for it..

@katsmeow1213 Our new family room is neutral and our bedroom, halls, foyer, and hubby's office is white. All the other rooms have wallpaper or color themes. For example

I was what you are now - trying to match everything around including our clothes (lol) I do not do that any more.
And I know how it used to bother me endlessly until I rectified the situation. Hope that blue will not bother you.

@DianneN How about doing what Maggie did in the comic 'Bring up Father' She buys a vase and realises it does not go with the decor. She changes the decor and still finds the vase is not fitting. She throws the vase away.

That is a beautiful painting. If there is any consolation, at least there is a shade of pink. Hope it fits your family room.

We just shipped a large framed painting to California. It was from 1900 and the frame was so old and ornate it had a bit of crumbling in one corner.
Tuesday Morning packed it for shipping for just $40 and it shipped via Fed Ex for less than $100 fully insured.
We had been told the same thing, If UPS had packed and shipped it would have been over $300 plus insurance. It arrived in perfect condition. My sister said Tuesday Morning did a beautiful job packing it.

Since it's such a beautiful painting I'm sure you can find another place to hang it if it doesn't work in the family room. Guess it was expensive to ship home?

Thanks. I would have to put it in our bedroom, which is upstairs and tucked away. The painting should be enjoyed by others. UPS told my husband that it will cost $300 plus insurance. We will check out Fed Ex and DSL, too. My brother has a convertible down here and may ship it home for the summer. If he does, we can see if it fits in the car.

Ha ha ha! Men really fare poorly in coordinating colors! (pardon me, I don't mean to be sexist). But still there's pink in the painting, the ballerina at the center.
