So is anybody having pancakes today in honor of Pancake Day? We don't have time in the morning to make pancakes so we will have them for dinner this evening. We will top them with strawberries and have some sausages on the side. What do you like to top your pancakes with? I use fresh fruit. Blueberry is my favorite. I also like butter and maple syrup.

We had no pancakes today, but I think it's not the "International Pancake Day", only National.

@Happy2BeMe Only English-speaking countries like the UK, Ireland, Australia, USA and Canada, also called Shrove Tuesday.

Is it Shrove Tuesday or a special pancake day? We usually have pancakes on Shrove Tuesday but we're nearly out of milk - and didn't realise if it was. Now we'll have to have them another day. Don't want to miss out on pancakes!

@Happy2BeMe I can't believe we missed Shrove Tuesday! We ALWAYS have pancakes on Shrove Tuesday - except today when we forgot for starters and are running out of milk and don't have any eggs. We'll have to have a substitute day.

That is so true but everything in moderation. If you don't overdo it, it will not do you any harm.

Time to have some pancakes for breakfast! I'd like to have some fresh strawberries and blueberries with my pancakes. A drizzle of chocolate syrup and maple syrup is a must as well. Of course, lots of hot sauce complete the pancake for me!

That is one thing that we don't eat around here, neither my husband nor myself like them. I'll "pancake" something else for supper tonight and then have to give something up for 40 days. Enjoy your pancakes and strawberries!

If I still lived in Kansas i would be watching the pancake races today. The town of Liberal, Kansas and Olney, Buckinghamshire, England, have history of sharing the day and seeing who will win.... the women race while flipping pancakes. I love pancakes.. http://olneypancakerace.org/

My husband and I had pancakes with butter and maple syrup. We had a homemade sausage patty on the side. After a quick cup of coffee I dashed out of the house to go and listen to my grand children perform at their "speech night".

@Happy2BeMe the eleven year old did quite well. He thought he might win a prize, but he doesn't have the confident manner that is required....also he doesn't enunciate his words clearly enough (I'm a proud grandma, but I'm also a realist). His younger sister has a speech impediment...she did amazingly well. I could actually understand at least half of the poem she recited. The first hurdle overcome....next year she will be so much better. The youngest (6 year old) had a severe attack of stage fright....he tends to be painfully shy, but he did get up and recite his poem....again....very brave of him and an excellent effort.

@Morleyhunt Glad to hear that they all did well. That is a big thing to get up in front of a crowd of people. I remember doing that in school and I use to get so nervous. One time I got up there and my mind went completely blank. It was such a terrible feeling.
