At a time when modern lifestyle leads unhealthy eating habits and no time for a proper diet. Many have come to the conclusion that the stomach should get rest for atleast once a week because that's how the mechanism inside van rest. However there are some who consider it a wrong move to starve yourself as it can lead to other health related issues.

Fasting for one day, providing you drink plenty and you have no health issues, is OK. It's one of those things which I believe works for some but not others. I have a friend who has 5 days of eating whatever he likes, with a 2 day 'detox'. Personally, I don't see as that could be very healthy but I suppose that depends what he's eating during those 5 days. Whereas, I eat sensibly most days, including odd treats, and then might indulge one day a week. I would have thought that is the better option than a one-day fast if you really want to be healthy.

Fasting one day a week should be beneficial instead of leading to health issues. Of course there are some who must eat several small meals a day, because of their health issues.
