Good afternoon. Here is a good one
What example did your parents set?
My parent's were immigrant. They did not set any example for me.
when you have nine children and living in depression years. No time.
the only thing will be survival and this is what I did.Everything that I did was on my own with no help.
But things worked out fine as I got older and wise.
What kind of example did your parent's set for you.
The photo is my daughter with my grandchildren

My parents also worked hard but my mother taught us our prayers and read to us. MY father took us out to work in the garden with him so we learned a good work ethic. We had family gatherings with other members of the family so we learned a lot from that too. We were poor but we really didn't know it. We always had good food on the table and my mom always managed to save a little and taught us the value of money and saving. All three of us are successful, happily married and financially secure. We are friends with each other too which I always figure is the best lesson parents can give. My kids are friends with each other too.

My parents set many examples. Generosity to others, the importance of an education, save for a rainy day, reading, music, art, beauty in nature, our religion, the importance of family, the value of a dollar, respect for the less fortunate, gardening, cooking, and to take care of our health. I could go on and on, but no time.

@JudyEv yes things were very poor then.We lost our house and was on Welfare for a long time.
But one thin I can say.We did not even noticed it.When you have a big family all of us are surviving.
Even though my mom and dad were immigrant. They were wonderful

My parents are pretty shy passive people who withdrew from the world for the most part...other than their day to day work life. I would say I am kind of along those lines as well, as is my sister. The apple doesn't fall that far from the tree.

This is a pretty photo Alfredo. My father worked hard all the day, but when he was at home he never missed to teach us to be honest, well mannered and not to waste food and money. My Mom stayed at home, she was the one who taught us to respect the others, to be charitable and to do our homework because we had to learn that we need to work in life.

What a lovely family you have there! Sure you parents set a great example, you can survive even through the rough times! They taught you to be independent even if they did not exactly say it.
My mamma taught me a lot of morals, to be good to people, to have an open mind, to explore interests and to be passionate!

great photo amadeo Im really grateful that my mom and dad
tauight me good manners and the golden rule as I have seen manyh
who have not the foggiest idea of good manners and will slam a doori in your face or shove yo u back into the elevator when You'
are trying to get off with your walker.. rudeness seems the order of
the day here n the retirement center but thank Godless some do have good manners and help others here.
another female resident and I saw an older resent fall out of his
wheelchair and four people just stood there .I and the other r youmg lady helped him back into his wheelchair and asked him
if he hurt anywhere. He just really overbalanced and slid to the floor did not injure himself at all.

My parents taught me the important of saving money. My mother worked and saved money for twenty years and that was used to put furniture in their home when my Dad retired the first time.

Intelligence. Love. Hard work. Independent thinking. Respect and honor. Honesty. My dad was witty and humorous, too. A good provider. My mom is brave and knew her place in the home as mother and wife.
