Out for lunch!

Last week my wife went off to France for a couple of weeks to stay with her family. Some friends of mine rang me on Friday and invited me to come for lunch today so that is where I am heading shortly.
As I was up quite early this morning I thought I would bake a cake to take for them so that they can have a slice or two with their tea. My daughter has also asked me to go for lunch but I have turned her down as I had already accepted the other invitation but she made me promise to go next Sunday!
Some other friends have invited me out next Saturday and to stay the night with them. Looks like I won't be needing to do much cooking next weekend either! My daughter said that I should call in for dinner when I finish work but I have already been shopping and have bought all the food I need for the week. I told her no because it would mean spending at least a couple of hours there when I would much rather get home to unwind in peace and quiet.
It is lovely an sunny outside but it has turned very windy. Apparently we are due some heavy rain this afternoon. So whatever you are doing today have a great day!

It seems you are all organised for the week. It's nice to have some down time on your own occasionally. The few times Vince has been away for a week or whatever I keep hoping I won't get asked out too much. Well, that is unless they're tall, male and spunky but they never are.

@garymarsh6 We have exactly the same kind of weather. In the north of Switzerland they had to close the skiing plants because the wind reached 168 Km/hour.

I have had quite a few invitations over the past week or so mainly with my daughter and also with some friends. I only had to cook twice this past week how about that eh!

When I head out of town my children will often join my husband for meals...or just bring him a coffee. It's nice when friends and family do the cooking for you, but I'm sure you will be happy when your wife returns home.

Two more weeks before she returns. I am quite ok about cooking so I am not worried about that. It is certainly nice to have some Me time though!

Good that even though your wife is visiting her family you will not go hungry @garymarsh6 :) you are quite an excellent cook. And good you get to spend some time with friends, enjoy! Goodness have we had rainy days here and then some, Gary, I feel like I am living in England lately.
