I don't know who among you likes ABBA, or who among you likes the movie "Mama Mia" but here in our house this is our go to feel good movie.
And, YES, we sing along. We play the movie is Sing-A-Long mode so we get the words right, even though we know most of them by heart.
There's just something about this movie that makes us feel good. The story, the music, the scenery, it all telegraphs a warm romantic feeling of unabashed love and unbridled hope. It just evokes happiness.
I've lost track of how many times we've watched this movie. But I know we'll watch it many times more.
Do you have a feel-good go-to movie you watch when you need a lift or just feel like feeling happy for a while?

I only watched Mama Mia once. I do remember it somewhat though, and remember the warm feeling I got after the last scene rolled through.
A "feel good" movie? Hmm. I am trying to think of a movie that would be inspirational that I've watched but I can't think of one. I do like to turn on "Clue" and it makes me happy.
I like "Grease" as well. I sing along to that and it makes me chipper.

@DWDavis I can't tell you how many times I've watched Grease over the years. Right now it is on netflix. I watched a bit of it but then got distracted and stopped watching.

@LoriAMoore I also love Clue because of Tim Curry!
My favorite scene was actually cut from the movie itself. It was in the trailer though.
Mr. Green is talking to Colonel Mustard (if I remember correctly) and Colonel Mustard asks Mr. Green why he is sceaming. He says "because I am afraid (pause) of screaming."
If you remember, it was actually part of a conversation between Mrs. White and The Maid (Yvonne). Except Yvonne didn't say she was afraid of screaming, just hat she was frightened of being there by herself.

No. I always move on to a movie I have never seen before and that usually is enough to take my interest.

@JohnRoberts My wife and I love the Classic Movie channel. She's become a big Audrey Hepburn fan.

There are a few 80's comedies that get me going.

I only seen it once but that sounds like a lot of fun. Ithe is good that you have a movie that makes you feel that way. I have seen a lot of feel good movies but rarely watched them more then once or twice.

I tend to try to find new movies to watch, or movies I haven't seen in a long time.. I get bored of watching the same thing over and over. I like new and exciting!

@DWDavis Yeah.. I hear ya.. but with the advances in technology some of today's movies are just better than their older counterparts.
I spent last week watching The Hobbit movies, and now I'm moving on to Lord of the Rings. Although they're all amazing movies, you can see how The Hobbit is so much better than Lord of the Rings due to all the technological advancements in just the past 10 or so years!

@katsmeow1213 I agree that cinematically and graphically today's movies are superior, but for content, dialogue, and meaning, few of them can measure up to the treasures of the past.

Upbeat music and let's face it ABBA was meant to sing along with. I remember singing all of those songs in the '70's. Loudly.

We were lucky enough to get tickets to see Mama Mia in London, before it came to the stage in the US and Canada. The ushers were dancing in the aisles and the theater goers sang along. What fun!
We feel pretty darn happy without a movie. Lol!
