Some Facts About March

The second week of March has just started.
The "meteorological" beginning of spring has occurred the first of March.
The astronomical beginning of spring will occur on the 20th.
(For those in the southern hemisphere it's the beginning of Autumn.)
What we do celebrate in March?
The 8th is the national women's day
The 14th is "National "Pi Day". Why? Because the value of Pi is 3.14.
March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day, and also Corned Beef and Cabbage Day.
Of course there are plenty of weird, almost unknown celebrations, like "Johnny Appleseed Day" on the 11th, or National Potato Chip Day on the 14th.
Do you have a special celebration during the month of March?
The photo is mine, of last Spring.

I like Spring, but I see nothing special in March for me. I had a look at the happening of the month, and I think I can add the World Day of Happiness on March 20th. I read that this day has been created by the UN in 2012, but I do not remember to have heard of it before today.

@Lupita234 No, getting drunk is not something I do, it is not funny and surely not appropriate for a woman, well not even for a man.

I only know of one person here who might be a pro horticulturist and that would be @daddyevil but what I'm not sure of @LadyDuck is if he has as much knowledge about trees as he does house plants.

Let's see, my former husband was born in March, tomorrow actually. Nothing to celebrate just thought I'd throw it out there.

St Patrick's Day is coming. Its the wearing of green and watching that Chicago River turn green.

@LadyDuck There are many Irish People in the United States. I wear something green almost every day.

@Fishmomma I almost never wear green, it's a difficult color to wear. We have a funny saying in Italy "if you dress in green, you undress your beauty".

I am looking forward for the National Women's Day!
March is a good month for me, the weather gets sunny and warm and we can finally go for walks at the beach.
I don't have any special events planned for this month so I am hoping to find some time and relax!

@arthurchappell I remember that it was a different day in the UK, I think to remember that in France in is not the 2nd Sunday of May, but the last Sunday.

None that I can think of, but St. Pat's day is a good one and I like that National Potato Chip day too.

@MarleneAM No naps for me, nor pies, but crispy chips are my favorite.

@LadyDuck Yes, indeed. You are welcomed to pie, potatoes chips, and after all that celebrating on March the 14th, taking a relaxing nap would be the thing to do, just for the sake of celebrating naps.

We always remember that 4th March was the day we arrived in Greece for what we thought was 6 months in which to decide whether to move here or not. The six months went into a year and this month we celebrate our 12th year here. It is rather different now than it was then, the rose tinted spectacles have come off, but we still like living here.

The 4th of March is my cousin birthday. We moved here 11 year ago and it was a long decision, because we bought this house 18 years ago. I can imagine that Greece was better when you first came there. Most European countries are more poor now than they were 12 years ago, it's a shame.

The only thing I celebrate is St. Patrick's Day and I do that by wearing green.
