Human Trafficking is Not Discussed Enough, nor is it Dealt with Properly

If you think you have a fair understanding of how severe Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation is, you're probably wrong. Human slavery is more prolific and profitable today than ever before in all of history, with more than 80% of it being primarily sex slavery. This is partly because it is just way too easy. More and more drug dealers are switching from drugs to girls, and for good (yet insidious) reason. Once an amount of drugs is sold, they have to go get more to sell. An innocent victim can be sold over and over again throughout the day, every day, for quite some time. Dogs don't sniff out girls (until it's too late). And one attractive young girl, often younger than 12, can fetch one trafficker up to $100,000 or more before she's no longer desirable by any buyers. What happens from there is a grisly mystery, but it's easy to assume they're simply murdered and replaced. And by simply, it is quite simple, apparently. This scourge affects literally hundreds of thousands of victims annually in this country alone. Millions worldwide. Drug Trafficking is the most successful and widespread organized criminal activity in the world. Look, if you don't smoke pot or do other drugs, you're still quite aware that you could likely 'score' some drugs in almost no time at all, just to prove the point. The second most successful organized criminal activity is Human Trafficking. You may not be one to troll the seedy sites for various things, but ask yourself a simple question- How hard would it be for you to 'meet' with a prostitute? How long would it take to accomplish this? Likely, it wouldn't be long at all. Note that, other than some rare exceptions and perhaps in Nevada, there are NO voluntary prostitutes. Have you ever heard of a pimp? For the love of God, this is so popular that many find it amusing or with an aspect of status, but a pimp is a slave owner who sells kidnapped victims to, honestly, just about anybody. I cannot explain why this scourge is not given more official consideration than it is, but at least this is changing to some degree. There are more and more organizations working to battle this, but the traffickers are still operating with virtual impunity. The best thing you can do is educate yourself (you have your assignment) and, if you have young daughters or know anyone who does, strive to ensure as much effective knowledge as possible is given. You must recognize any young girl, particularly pretty girls, are not just at risk, but are in mortal danger. I'll repeat this- MORTAL DANGER. Every single capable individual on the planet not involved in the crime must be more vigilant to combat the problem. One thing, for example, is the erroneous notion that this is a victimless crime. A so-called prostitute may act as though she's all in for the money and a good time, but she must produce enough money in terms of a quota daily or she may face severe penalties. Most are forcefully addicted to drugs, so they work to get their fix. Far too many men either don't realize these young girls are not voluntarily doing this, or they just don't care. Too many men know how to 'hook up' some action for a relatively small amount of money and do so without a thought. This is why this industry (and it is an industry) is so profitable. Everyone's willing to jump on bandwagons for political crap, or will devote volumes of passion to silly entertainment, but this issue just might be the moral challenge of our time, and we're not dealing with it. And the ones paying for the willful ignorance and cavalier demeanor are our most innocent and vulnerable. I implore everyone to task themselves to learn more about this.
