"What do you want to be when you grow up?"

How can I forget this question? It has been an overrated question of every parent in this world. When I was still in toddler's year, I always answer it with full of confidence. "I want to be a doctor." As I grow up, my dreamed had changed. But still, I am connected to a medical field. I am a licensed Physical Therapist and worked before in the hospital. In the Philippines, my profession is not considered to be a doctor. However, it is still called a doctor if passing the board exam in another country. At some point, "I had fulfilled my dream." "Can you still remember this simple question?" Image Credit: pixabay.com

@Shavkat Shavkat being a physical therapist is a very good profession. I thought you teach English online which is also good.

It has always been my wish to be a nurse. Another question often asked by our elementary teachers were:"What I did last summer vacation. "

@ridingbet I can say that old school is better to learn of something. It gives all the challenges but we were able to survive it.

@Shavkat indeed, and do you still remember the big theme notebook where you can copy the theme or topic in a one-space paragraph, or just copy the words that were misspelled? hahaha! that is a good memory recall.

@Shavkat i agree with you. the old school taught us better spelling (remember the 3 R's?-- Reading '[w]Riting, and '[a]Rithmetic?)besides, our grammar is more of the teacher's focus that was why we had the theme notebook.

Been a long time for me. I know I have always wanted to own a Crafters Flea Market type place forever, and at one time wanted to work with children in early child hood education. The latter one would still be nice, but it would take a lot more money than I have coming in right now, to even consider it.

I am sure you will have what you really desired in life. I am also doing the same course of action and hoping to have it.

I didn't have a big ambition when I was little. I wanted to work in the zoo because I liked to take care of the animals. Or I wanted to be a seller to sell the toys in the department stores. So I could play different kinds of toys all the time

I guess that's the point where simple dreams matter the most in childhood years.

"I want to be an emperor." That was mine. I'm still trying to build my empire. I'll get there eventually!

This post reminds me of what John Lennon (of the Beatles) said during class when a teacher asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. John answered "Happy" The teacher said to John "You don't understand the question". John replied to the teacher "and you don't understand life".
