THE DOCTOR WHO WHISTLES.

How comfortable would you feel visiting a doctor who whistles a low tune while examining you or checking your test results?. Not very many people I know enjoy a visit to the doctor - some are literally forced to go. Most of us are afraid of what we may hear -- and I can say - the manner of some doctors while sitting at their desk, going through your test results doesn't help one bit - their grave expressions would convince you that you are headed for the morgue. There was a doctor I used to visit whose waiting room was always full - and it didn't take me long to realize why. Apart from being a very good doctor, he had a very calming presence and gave you the impression that whatever was wrong could be fixed. In fact he even whistles a tune while examining a patient. Maybe not every patient would appreciate that - but I did. He made me feel relaxed and at ease. Would you appreciate a doctor who whistles?

As long as he was a good doctor, it wouldn't worry me if he whistled.

I suppose those who object could ask him very kindly not to.

Even if my doctor tapped danced, I wouldn't care, just as long as he was exceptional.

I haven't seen a doctor that whistles while examining a patient. I think it isn't appropriate. Maybe music can help soothe a patient while being examined. I also whistle along a music specially when my boss isn't around at our office room. It lightens my mood.

The work of a doctor is far from easy, who knows - maybe whistling helped him relax as well.

Whistling is my nemesis. I can't stand it. After the morgue, when I go to Hell, everyone there will be whistling.

@Kandae11 I think God reads my thoughts, in spite of my aluminum cap.

I like that kind of doctor. Looking serious and everything will just make me more nervous and I really hate going to the clinic or hospitals unless I really need to.

@Kandae11 Quite right. I will wait in line if the doctor is like that. But sadly, that kind of doctor is rare.

it depends, if he whistles while telling me about how bad my condition is , like " oh you're dying"(whistles) "You only have 1 month left" (whistles) i think that's really scary.

That would be scary indeed, - but its like he wants you to feel relaxed before telling you whatever.

@GrimReape He'll probably leave that for your Pastor to take care of.

@Kandae11 hahaha! he would have just told me to pray for my sins instead of whistling.

It isn't loud enough to annoy and whatever tune he whistles is not easily recognizable.

No matter how kind a doctor I would not want someone who whistled while examining me. I had a funny dentist who would ask me to keep my mouth open and start a conversation

Surely your mouth would already be open if the dentist is doing his job.

I guess in a calming way what not?! Ill appreciate a Doctor Who smile and charming and candid than those who always look who has lots of problems in his head. Hahahaha... I will appreciate that Doctor Who whistle. I also live doctors who smile on his patience and laugh with... And the Doctor Who is really concern to his patients health and finances as well. I knew someone who pray and don't ask more examination. If he knows his patient is not that rich, he makes sure to do an examination that will give him all the result.

I suppose so - but it is never anything bouncy. I can't recall hearing a familiar tune -probably because he keeps the volume down.

I don't think it would bother me if the doctor whistled. It probably would be calming so maybe that's why he does it

It would depend upon exactly what he was whistling. Queen, 'Another One Bites The Dust', not a good choice; Ace of Base, 'Beautiful Life', I'd go back again.

"Another One Bites The Dust" - that is hilarious - albeit, not to the poor patient if he did whistle that tune.

I love my doctor, he is always positive and tells you do this and YOU WILL get better. I had a doctor that always hugged me, well everyone. But he went into sports medicine instead of general medicine. I had a doctor tell me I had a bad heart and I would need a pace maker, Yeah I stopped going to him when he gave me high blood pressure meds and I DON`T have high blood pressure. Sounds like a good doctor you have there, whistling makes me feel like they are happy.

I don't mind...as long as he is not distracted and forget to tell me what he is seeing and why he is whistling. If the whistling was just a way to put me at ease, then it's quite okay.On the other hand, I don't mind a doctor with a grave expression either.

Well, I won't want him to look happy if the diagnosis isn't a good one . Maybe a doctor with no expression might be best.
