Hello everyone ! I am new here and just wanted to wish a very Happy Holi to everybody.
It's the festival of colours today in my country, India. Holi has an ancient origin and it signifies the triumph of 'good' over 'bad'. On this day, people hug and wish each other 'Happy Holi', exchange sweets and play with colours and water.
Is there any 'Festival of Colours' similar to ours that is celebrated in your region ? Would be glad to know.

In America, there's a 'festival' started for Irish immigrants ... we call it St. Patrick's Day (and yes, St. Patrick is 'internationally' celebrated by the Christian Church; but America added a buncha stuff to the tradition) http://www.history.com/news/st-patricks-day-myths-debunked

Welcome to myLot. WE have a December holiday season when people are more kind and charitable than they seem so be at other times. The main celebration during that season is the Christian one -- Christmas. Some people wish each other "Merry Christmas" and other may say "Happy Holidays" so as not to offend someone who is not Christian. Each religion has its own traditions for it December holiday.

AnotherPS - Colors are of importance to any festival, but especially so are they of importance to a festival named for them. My favorite color is probably pure white, for white contains some of all of the other colors save black (which contains none of them). -Gus-
