I've Never Been This Excited To Do Laundry

Today is the day my daughter and I have been waiting for almost two weeks.
Yesterday the new washing machine was delivered but it didn't arrive until nearly 7pm. It took them about half an hour to hook-up the new machine and run it to make sure it worked. Being the good mommy that I am I let my daughter have the first turn .
Today, I already have my first load running before she gets up and now I can take the dogs out, have my coffee and relax a little.
I did take some laundry to my oldest daughters but it was only bare minimum so now I have plenty to keep me busy.
It's unbelievable how much can pile up in almost two weeks time. I certainly won't be taking the convenience of doing laundry for granted for a long long time.
Good thing the fashion police weren't here the last few days as it was difficult trying to find something to wear. It would have made a great episode of the tv show "what NOT to wear"

I can't say I LOVE doing laundry but it's nice to have it all working so I don't have to go to the river and pound my clothes on rocks to get them clean

I always took doing laundry for granted and if I didn't feel like it I would wait another day. Without having my washing machine functioning I now have sympathy for those who don't have the convenience of both washer & dryer on hand.

Enjoy your new machine!!! The fashion police are not allowed anywhere with 50 miles of this place. We have enough socks/undies to go 3-4 weeks w/o washing in case of emergency.

I had to buy some new undies to get me through but I needed them anyway. You're lucky that the fashion police can't come within 50 miles

So happy for you that you got a new washing machine. When I was raising my FIVE children, I washed tons of laundry every week. Now, I do very little laundry. About three loads a week, compared to 25 or30 loads I used to do. But, thank goodness, I didn't have to wash clothes by hand, like my grandmother did.

I know what you mean about lots of laundry when the kids are growing up (I raised 4). Now I don't have much either but after two weeks it did pile up to mountains

I tried not to get one with lots of bells and whistles since most of my laundry needs are basic. Besides the newer machines are complicated enough for me to figure out without adding more features

@Marilynda1225 I wonder... are there Japanese branded appliances available in the US?

It feels like we've accumulated mountains of laundry in the last two weeks. My electric meter must be zipping around today with the machines going non-stop

It´s good to have a new washing machine at home. I still use the commercial laundromats and I only let the clothes pile up for one week

Good to know that your new washing machine is there already. I remember how I too excited when new purchases are delivered.
