Sometimes , We Have To Give In

The other Saturday, when I went to visit my parents in our hometown, they gave me a cucumber –melon body lotion. It was actually from one of my former high school batchmates who I was close with when we were in high school .
A friend from that hometown, brought it with her when she came from Canada to attend the wedding of a niece there and gave it to my parents to in turn, give to me when I go there to visit.
I tried the lotion on my hands, when I was at the receiving room with my diabetic father in his wheelchair, watching TV.
He turned to look at me when he smelled the delicious smell of the lotion. I let him try it on his arms and hands . He said he liked the smell so much.
Hearing that, I told him he can have it. He was so happy to receive it.
I have to send a message of thanks to my friend at FB and apologized that I have to give it to my father because he super liked it.
She was so happy knowing that and told me that she will be bringing me some more , for me and my father , when she will be coming home to attend our Alumni Homecoming on May.
At this point in time of my father, I would be too happy to give him whatever he likes as long as I can afford it.
I am sure you feel the same way too.

It was a great gesture on your part to give it to your father. It may not be possible for him to go market and buy the same.

@SIMPLYD It means the perfume was extra ordinary and is not available in the local market, therefore, he wanted it to keep it for himself.

At both our age our parents only have very little time to be with us, yes I give my mother what she wants, what I can afford and sometimes what I cannot afford ( I find a way), I feel I have to give back what my parents did for me, it's something I cannot really repay.

Yes, that is true. We love them so dearly that we like to make them happy by giving them what they like, provided that we can afford them. ha ha ha Though, when they ask they are not those expensive things and I think that'e because they are also considering our financial capacity.

But in this case, it's to give in , because they want it instead for themselves.

@Happy2BeMe Yes. I always give him even small things that he likes whenever I visit them. One of those is the spicy peanuts.

Oh wow, it's nice to see you again! Where have you been? I miss you! I keep going to your travel site to see what's keeping you busy but there's no new one there too.
Anyway, indeed that is so true. Besides, they are our parents, they are dear to our hearts and whatever they like we do our best to give them. When they are happy, we are happy too.

@nottoooldtowrite Maybe they are those whose parents didn't care much about him or have abandoned them in their childhood.

That was some sort of payback time. I'm sure when you were younger, especially when you were a little girl, your father must have given you anything you wanted as long as it was not harmful to you and he could afford it. A father's love for a daughter :)

Yes, that is true. However, when I was to go to college, he didn't permit me to study in Manila but just in Legazpi . But with my next sister, she permitted her.
Up to now it baffles me why? Does he love my sister more by doing that or being the eldest and will just be taking up Accounting as he insisted for me, he wants me not to go far?

@sunrisefan That's another reason I am thinking , but refuse to believe because while growing up, I always get what I asked from him except that.

@SIMPLYD It simply means he wanted you near more than he wanted of your sister.

That was so sweet of you. I would do the same for my parents also. If I have the money and they want something I get it for them.

@SIMPLYD Yes it is! I did my grandmother the same way until the day she passed and I still do my grandfather like this, as well as my parents. I say spoil them while we have them and can because we aren't going to have them forever.
