When you are feeling down & low...

Wow, just realized my subject reads like the opening line of a song! Today I woke up and it was one of those days: I felt down & low! Down meaning not in the mood for anything and low meaning sad because of the violence in our country. In fact, I didn't even want to get out of bed. That option was however not available to me as there were errands to run and things to do. Once I got busy, I started feeling better. At 11am I synchronized my phone to have my favorite songs on it and went for a walk. Soon after that I started to feel much better. What do you guys do when you wake up and are faced with a feeling that the day is going to be less than perfect, or even downright miserable! How do you cope? What do you do to get into a better frame of mine?

Because of my diabetes, I check my blood sugar. What I eat affects how I feel. I also know that getting active, as you did with your walk, helps my entire frame of mind. One reason I have a job is to fill my life with reasons to move, and new things to learn and smiles to share with others. So, if it is a work day, even if I feel not the best, I get dressed, go to work, smile and chat with my supervisor, and before you know it, the day is better. At home I do something, anything, that makes me know that I am making some progress. I check out myLot, I open doors for fresh air if the weather permits. I clean something. I guess I would say, I work through things until I am better.

Thanks for the commentary. Looks like staying active is your golden recipe for improving ones mood. Will keep that in mind when I'm in a downward spiral.

I may cry and then try to listen to some good music to cheer me up

I just want to scream and cry... Bit I just lift it all up to God. And just simply watch Korean dramas.

I do the same thing you did -- get busy. Life must go on, and if I am not ill, moping around would only make matters worse.
