Started My Day With Some Random Acts of Kindness!

I try to start my day by doing a random act of kindness. We live in a world where people are constantly chasing the almighty dollar. They never seem to have enough. Things don't bring me pleasure. Giving makes me much happier. Today I sent a kind note to an author that wrote a book that changed my life. I also donated a hot meal to a school child in a third world country. These two random acts of kindness didn't cost me a lot of money and made my world a little happier. What kinds of things do you do to make the world a better place?

@simpleliving3251120 I love to be able to tell people what they or their employees are doing RIGHT. Always speak kindly to your cashiers as well for so many people do not.

I was praying a situation would present itself today and it did. An employee at the craft store I shop at went above and beyond in being kind and helpful to my family today. I made sure I wrote a letter to the manager of the store to let them know what a great job she was doing.

For sure. I am ready to say goodbye to materialism in my life. Helping others and staying close to God are most important.

I go to work early, so I can prepare to work with special needs kids. I work a lot of unpaid hours. I am beginning to collect my Operation Christmas Child supplies for shoe boxes we mail around Thanksgiving. I plant flowers, and food crops. I always share a smile.

I started my day eating some potatoes chips with guacamole that I found behind the sofa. No effect on making the world a better place. Your beginning wins.

You are right - it doesn't cost much - even a bright smile can work wonders.

Wonderful. I try to do the same. Some people always think of a gift as some kind of material object and the only gift that is appreciated by others. I personally find an act of kindness one of the best gifts I can receive. I appreciate basic things like a neighbor giving me a lift into town, a friend visiting when I am not feeling well, etc.

Yes, I agree. Having somebody buy me a cup of coffee has always been a favorite. I am thinking of sending an card and gift card to Starbucks to my daughter's girl scout leader as a thank for all of the work she has done for them.

Aww thats such great deed that you did. I volunteer in an NGO and some of the things i participated in includes - helping poor people but trying to provide them the support they require, participate in campaigns for environmental protection and also against child and women abuse
