Seeing this amazing photo of my Great Great Great Grandparents truly brought a tear to my eye, i never imagined to find such an amazing photo of them, the one i had was a photo copy of a photo of a portrait someone had painted of them, and comparing the photos it appears that portrait was painted of this photo of them.
David Isom was born Jan 18 1836 in Indiana, Nancy Ann Isom was born May 5 1840 in Green County, Indiana, it is assumed they are cousins but the exact kinship is unknown.
David and Nancy Isom married on Aug 18 1859 in Howell County, Missouri.
David Isom was in the Civil War, On 1890 Civil war veterans census listed service as Company I, 26 Missouri Inf. from 22 October 1861 to 25 December 1864
David Isom died Dec 17 1898 of Pnemonia
I have a letter that i have tried my best to transcribe fully from Nancy writing to her son William Isom that tells him about his fathers death, and the death of his brother within days of each other, it is quite sad.
January 1st 1899

TImes were definitely different then. $25.00 for two burials. It would be much much much more expensive today.

How wonderful for you to have this amazing piece of your family history. I have almost nothing due to circumstances beyond my control, so I understand how much this must mean to you and yours.
Thank you so much for sharing. It's made my evening much more fulfilling.
