If you ask my opinion I will give it to you...

....but don't expect it to be what you want to hear. I don't believe in giving you anything but the truth as I see it. I call it like I see it. Does it get me in trouble yes it does.
If you ask me if the black shorts look good on you and I don't think they do - I will be honest. I am not one for saying what you want to hear - I don't roll that way.
I think my husband has gotten used to my honesty (or bluntness is probably more accurate) over the years. Sometimes I see him cringe when I 'get into it' with someone.
Many times people ask questions but they don't really want any answers except what they want you to say. I think they ask for the sake of having something to say. Words are cheap, but don't waste my time asking if you really don't want an answer.....or if you don't like the answer I give you.
With that said, does anyone have any questions? (sorry, I couldn't resist!)

My husband never knows (for sure) what I'm going to say.

@LadyDuck I don't purposely say stuff in front of my husband! Much of what I mean is things that happen in emails or on FB.

I like people like that. At least you know where you stand with them.
Do you like people like that?

I would respect a person that would tell me the truth a lot more than one who just would tell me what they think I want to hear.

Being blunt does not always win you friends though, but I don't suppose you mind too much because you will enjoy being with people who are equally honest with you.

@AbbyGreenhill I can appreciate that it is hard to make new friends once we move on from familiar faces. It is good that you and your husband have such a good relationship.

Over the years friends have come and gone for reasons other than me being blunt. Since we moved south 16 years ago and left behind our true friends, we have each other and being blunt with each other is fine.

@41CombedaleRoad Most of the people around here we have nothing in common with We only have one neighbor and in 4 years the wife and I have never met The husband is over here often but she doesn't go out of the house. They don't go out to dinner, they don't go on vacations. Very strange. Most of the families are farmers so they have enough to do running the farms. We are fine just us!

No, I don't think I do! Not unless I can tell you first what I want you to say!

@AbbyGreenhill Well, I don't have any questions and if I did, I'm not sure I want to hear your answers.

Agree. Even some friends would ask for an advice but they will still do otherwise. I value truthfulness. It makes relationships stronger, if not broken..

@AbbyGreenhill yes. Should be stonger than the truth. Truer than true.

@AbbyGreenhill
I understand what you are saying. I guess that is why I say people either like me or do not. I am honest but sometimes I do not say anything if do not have something nice to say. I have tried to be nice in trying to explain something to some people and they still took it the wrong way.
