Today, I lost $500 in 5 minutes.

...No, no I didn't gamble. But I did lose $500 in 5 minutes.
I liked a Louis Vuitton Tote purse, brand new on a selling app called Poshmark. The seller was selling the Tote alone, as she sold the pouch it came with already. Any purchase of $500 or more will be sent to Poshmark headquarters for authentication so you can have a worryfree shopping experience.
Anyway, once a price of something you like gets discounted by the seller of at least 10%, everyone who "liked" the bag would be notified.
I was notified that the seller dropped the price by 50%! I immediately inputted my card information, purchased, my money withdrew - just to find out the seller cancelled 5 minutes afterwards. She told me it was a pricing mistake on her behalf.
*Darn, I knew it was too good to be true!*
I checked my card, and Poshmark placed my money hold back in right after. The story of losing $500 and getting it back shortly after! Normally it takes a couple business days but it went back sooner than later so I was happy with that.
But then again, I would have been real happy with a new purse...

@sjvg1976 Yes I won't. She's selling it for double the price haha. At her price I'd better get buy a new one that comes with the pouch she's sold.

Funds were credited back
But I would have really been content with a new purse too. After justifying selling my other purses of course! But a girl can't have too many purses.

@AbbyGreenhill If I go out in a nice restaurant I wear an expensive one. When I go out as a tourist I will not make anymore this mistake. When I was attacked in Miami and my purse was stolen I was very unhappy to have used an expensive bag.

@LadyDuck I would be more worried about losing my credit cards and money.

I can wear out an expensive one quicker than a cheaper one.

Me too! It was rather quick so I was shocked! Normally there is always some sort of pending hold and would take a couple of days to process.

Yes it was a fast credit. Typically anything that has been deducted there is always a pending for processing back by this type nope!
Same here! For a brand new with receipt, and free authentication for purchases $500+, I wouldn't be losing out! But darn, sellers incorrect pricing error. I have a hunch she did that purposely but forgot to change the price back up so that way it'd draw more attention back to her purse! Then when I asked how much she was selling it for. She said ideally $1.100. Mind as well buy the new one for $1.260 with the pouch

@infatuatedbby I am not familiar with shopping like that. I usually buy a new bag in the fall and a new one in the spring.

@infatuatedbby - Now is the time to look around. Everyone is trying to get rid of last year's models so a lot of them are on sale.

Heheh! The original price will scare you then! I like quality purses they match with everything and when I get sick of them (which I do easily), I sell them and get a new one.

@ichchhe_mrityu yep however typically once you purchase anything it'll automatically take out & refund to you in a day or two pending so it was shocking to get it back within a few minutes.

Yes, it's a bummer since it would have been a good deal. But I would be crazy if I was the seller for selling at that price. (But it was a mistake with is understandable).
Thank you.
