I was listening to the radio this morning on my way to work and on the morning show they were discussing the fact that there are some restaurants that offer discounts for putting your cell phone in a charging area while you eat. The restaurants prefer that their customers talk to each other rather than on the phone while they are eating What do you think?. If offered such a discount, would you be willing to put your phone down? Here is a link to one of the restaurants that offer such a discount:
Eva Restaurant in Los Angeles is bribing diners to leave their cell phones with the receptionist.

I think its a good idea and wonder just how many restaurants will consider it. My cell phone doesn't get used a lot and never while eating, but would have no problem hauling it to a restaurant for a discount.

I would be willing too. The only down side would be if there should happen to be an emergency and someone couldn't get a hold of me. It would be nice to have the phone near and handy in that case.

@Jon2071 I just inform family members where I'll be and if its an emergency they can call the restaurant. Thankfully have never had an emergency during any meal.

@Fishmomma Good thought. Too obvious for me to think of it. :-)

I would be willing to do this for a discount. I don' talk on my phone while eating at restaurants anyway, so it would be easy for me.

This sounds a good idea but it should hardly be necessary. I don't have a mobile so it wouldn't worry me one way or the other.

Yeah I would do that.. there is no problem putting my phone done because when I'm out at a restaurant or somewhere I don't get on my phone.

I won't mind doing it - but I will worry that I might miss an important call.

That is hilarious, did they forget about table manners?
