A Sentimental Moment with Granny

As I promised, I had traveled to my granny's home in the countryside yesterday. I am sure some of you read my post about her previous accident and got cracked ribs. I knew from the start that it wasn't serious. However, I still need to see it personally. At her age 98, we can't be sure 100% that she's fine.
In the aging process, it is normal that the skeletal system deteriorates its functions. Bones' structure will be brittle and can easily be break especially for elders. It cannot be denied that we can still be in the same health condition. With these changes in our body, we need to accept the fact of deterioration.
To cut the story short, I arrived at her house with the biggest smile. My groovy grandmother has still her jokes of seeing me around. She wasn't a granny who are so traditional. Perhaps it was being influenced by an American culture, she had stayed in America for so many years. However, she decided to go back home and be with us.
By seeing her, she seems fine and just some bruises had seen. We were talking and trying to catch up. All of a sudden, she became so sentimental about her age and thinking that she might not reach 100 years of her life. She will have her birthday on June and strikes another year as 99. I was caught off guard with her statements. As a Joker, I tried to make her laugh and said, she has 150 years contract with God to stay here on earth. It brightens her face and laughed with me. In fact, she doesn’t want to live more than a hundred year.
While talking with her, I feel like talking to someone who is going to die. But I told her to stay and enjoy life while she is still with us. I don’t want her to think a lot. When I left today, she seems relaxed and calmed. I promised to see her again soon.

Your granny is lucky her injuries weren't worse especially at her age. I hope she lives many more years as she sounds like a great lady. Lucky you having her around for so long

@Shavkat it's nice you still have her, your story made me miss my granny who passed away age 90, also very funny and with a very sharp mind and memory to the end.

Bonding with elders is on the decline these days. Glad you belong to the old school of thought.

There is not much time left @Shavkat

you are so lucky and fortunate to have a living grandparent. they are usually making us their favorite grandchild, and more often than not, we are their favorites.
take care of her, my friend. but when she leaves, it is good to be appreciative of her presence as well. no, i am not wishing that she leaves now, but hope that you are emotionally prepared when she finally meets our Creator.

@ridingbet He was really so young to die. He got an open-heart surgery and he never woke up after. Some of his friends followed him to heaven.lol I am sure he will not be lonely. They are having a drinking session in heaven. lol

@Shavkat hahaha!
so, your father had angioplasty? or maybe he had some blockage in his heart that required the open-heart surgery? i presume the surgery was not successful because he never woke up?
oh, so now, your father and his friends are having drinking session again? i hope St. Peter won't join the table so he won't be intoxicated to point who should go where.
