This parrot lives at a local nursery which I visited this weekend. I stopped to take a few photos of him and was lucky enough to shoot a burst just as he opened his mouth. He wasn't actually talking, but it sure looks that way.

@Happy2BeMe He is cute, just as long as one doesn't get to close. Apparently he bites, so I keep my distance.

Few years bac I had a parrot we named her "Piuli", she was beautiful cute and it's class. She became a member of our family. She use to utter some words which include my name and knock the door it was she who always responded but then I don't know what illness she had which killed her, we took her to doctors and to the vertinary hospital but nothing worked for her.

@subhajitsil6 So sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved pet is really hard.

@subhajitsil6 I don't think one ever fully gets over any loss.

@Lupita234 I presume so. I don't really know too much about him, but he's lived at that nursery for a long time so they obviously take good care of him.

@AbbyGreenhill There are warning signs up that he bites big time so he was probably trying to coax me closer so that he could take a bite.

@AbbyGreenhill We've never had a bird in the house. My Mom always says they're carriers of germs. I don't think I'd feel comfortable in a house where they were flying around either. I'm sure this bird's wings have been clipped, otherwise they nursery's customers could get hurt without doing anything wrong.

@Gina145 I am not a fan of birds. My cousin has had birds her whole life and lets them fly around the house - ugh, that creeps me out - all that bird poop can't be sanitary.

@jillybean1222 I love to look at them and take photos, but I don't think I'd want one as a pet. Not if they bite like this one does.

Isn't this kind of parrot supposed to be one of the most intelligent and the best at talking? He certainly looks like he's trying to say something.

@chrissbergstrom I love to watch them and take photos, but I've never really wanted to own one. And I'm certainly not getting too close to this one because I know he bites.

@ShifaLk I actually like that idea. I'm sure they're a lot happier flying freely than they would be in cages.

@Gina145 Those green talking parrots are banned in my country to sell or keep them in the cage So it's better to see them flying freely :) But I wish I could get one

Our family had a parakeet called chippy. He was green in color. That parrot sure looks like he's talking!

@dgobucks I believe that he does talk but he doesn't respond when he's spoken to.

@dgobucks226 Maybe he likes the sound of his own voice but isn't too sociable.
