Two funerals, both too young

Yesterday I went to the funeral of a friend's son. He was 47 and had struggled with alcoholism for many years. It's some comfort to know he knew Jesus personally and he's strong and healthy in heaven today.
Last night we heard of another death. The son-in-law of two very close friends of ours passed away from a heart attack. He was only in his 40's with a daughter in college and a son still in high school. His wife (our friends' daughter) and our daughter are the same age and they both have the same first name. I guess it was a very popular name in the 70's.
Just another reminder that life is short, whether you live to be 94 like my mother-in-law who just passed away or 40 something like our two friends.
We don't know what the very next moment may bring. But I do know that God is faithful and he'll never let us walk through these sorrows alone.

So sorry to hear this. It is always so sad when people die so young. It seems to be happening more and more. A lot of people are having heart attacks. Nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. God bless their families.

@Happy2BeMe Lookin back we saw the signs, but thought it was because she had a baby to care for and was smoking again. We helped raise our grandbaby for seven years.

@1creekgirl sometimes you don't realize they were signs until it is too late then you look back and it seems so clear.

So sorry to hear about the deaths of these two men. It is sad to see someone pass away at such a young age. I cannot imagine what it will do to their children.

One man didn't have children, but the other one had a teenage son and a daughter in college.

For these kinds of reasons and that we never know what tomorrow will bring I do all I can do each and every day and say my prayers in the morning and at night. Sorry for the losses. I will put in prayers for the families.

I'm so sorry about your friends. :-( I was talking to a man yesterday - he was older - kidding about not having much time left. I told him that none of us know when we will be taken home.

True, even young people aren't promised a long life.
