Zazzle Lied!

Don't get me wrong, I really like Zazzle for earning from my designs, but they lied big time in an email they sent last month. The email specifically stated that Zazzle would not be sending out 1099's for earnings that were paid through Paypal. So I went ahead and did my taxes, listing the income under "Other Income." I already got my refund and everything, but Saturday, I got a 1099 from Zazzle! So now I have to do an amended form, because how can I prove that that income was listed under Other Income, and I don't want to get audited for missing a 1099, even though it won't change the refund at all, since I've already claimed that income. I instantly complained to them, because they very plainly lied. Btu they sent me a stupid excuse, about finding out that they could still send out 1099's, so they did. I'm pretty mad at them right now!

I don't understand how taxes work in America but I'm still trying to get my Zazzle form sorted out in connection with withholding tax. It's been weeks since I submitted my form and I haven't heard anything about it being approved. I'd love to put more effort into that site but I'm reluctant to do so until this issue is sorted out and I've received my first payment.

I've seen on the Zazzle forums that people outside the US often have problems with that. I don't know if they are just slow to approve the forms, or what. They really need to step up their tax game.

@connierebel It's good to know that it's not just me, but it's really frustrating because I'd love to be more active there.

Glad you are making money on Zazzle, but that should not have happened.

If for some reason they changed their minds, they should have had the decency to email us, not just let it be a big surprise when we get the 1099 in the mail.

@connierebel Yes, that would have made more sense.

They sent it to you very late. Did you have to reach a certain amount to receive a 1099? Or all sells will? I am not a member of Zazzle but may want to give it a try.

I think for royalties the minimum is $10 to get a 1099. Since Zazzle's cashout minimum is $50, they are supposed to send it to everybody.

That sounds very frustrating. But exciting that you make enough from Zazzle to receive a 1099!
